G1 Rodimus Prime original prototype mockup! He was going to be bigger with a more involved transformation on the arms, and a different trailer transformation. He got downsized for cost reasons, apparently.

That is a glorious thing. And several years ahead of its time. (It looks like it would fit right into the post-cyberpunk genre, it is just the kind of disposable firearm you'd imagine coming out of a vending machine for a few hundred yen or twenty kongbucks).

It is also close to the platonic ideal of the G2 aesthetic. A thing of beauty as far as I am concerned.
