As long as it looks good in base mode, it need never be transformed.

I spotted little in the way of Transformers at Spring Fair this year. I saw Prime pinball, table hockey etc as we've seen the last couple of years for other series. Danilo had Prime greetings cards.
There was a new layout at the show this year, so I didn't pass as many stands as usual, so there may well have been more products that I didn't spot. For example, I didn't see bedding suppliers and I imagine there'll be Prime duvet covers.
Rubies still had their film costumes on display. I also spotted, on a cheap toy wholesaler's stand, a box of Sixtrain/Sixliner knockoffs, sold in individual boxes like the reissues.

Yeah. American fans are the only ones that matter, and oh my gosh, they still aren't happy. Curse you Canada for getting these toys! How dare you!

But FE and RID are the same actual toys, aren't they? Though I hear the quality is a bit higher on FE. They're getting them as RID anyway.

Well, as long as there's a reason and people aren't just going overboard for different boxes. Having different moulds is odd.

Having different moulds is odd. It is, isn't it! I had just assumed it was different decos, but no, they are all different.

The RID voyagers have the electronics, the first editions don't.

Is there a picture of Optimus Maximus in base mode anywhere? Folk are saying it's terrible yet I have been unable to behold the full horror.
I AM NOT BUYING TRANSFORMERS AGAIN.

Hasbro Toyfair 2012 footage of Transformers and various other stuff worth watching to see the new figs in action. It goes on a bit, but is worth skipping bits. Those Marvel Jumpstarters things are a bit random, but will probably do well. If you want to see different angles of items, closeups and demos from the previous photos posted, this is worth a look hence plugging the link here. Liking the Kreon Vehicons, 'AutoTroopers', Energon peices, Wheeljack and Cliffjumper!

Apart from the shoulders which remind me of Energon Ironhide's "thing" on top of the vehicleA giant robot that little robots can ride in? SOLD!

Yes, but it's no Metroplex is it. I mean, what are the little robots supposed to do/go? Do they just sit in vehicle mode in that weird frame?
And base mode is supposed to be this weird frame thing sitting down and sticking out its arms. Metroplex did that far better and that's nearly 30 years old!!

Actually it reminds me a little of one of the diaclone design concepts in the back of one of the Generations books from last year/year before.... Which would make its design lineage stretch back almost as far as 'plex...

While ruminating earlier it suddenly hit me that the spectacular crapness of the 'base mode' is pretty much akin to the 'transformed' mode of what Action Master Elites would be like today.
NEON IT UP, HASBRO, NEON IT UP.
I am now pretty much resigned to me buying one Transformers toy this year after all. Oh dear.
