The annual is now out.
It's a whirlwind of a comic, no stop for rest as he condenses the series into a 20 page story.
Gorgeous looking book as it always has been.
Hardcover is on the horizon as well...

My copy is in the post now. Can't decide whether to continue buying all the cover variants as there's a couple of limited ones for this one which will cost a load.

I've ordered two of the covers. Tom's and the sub variant.
That will do me.

Sub variant come today, although I was peeved to note it had been dropped after being bagged and boarded as the corner of the board and the comic are dented. I think I need the regular cover too.
Bit of a swizz this one, when they said 48 pages I was excited - but half of it is just the first layouts. The actual comic stops half way through!

Yeah, I was a bit annoyed at that as well, but it was new Scioli goodness so the anger dissipated.

Only 20 pages of story in a 48-page publication? I shall pass.

I bought a bag of 4 random comics for £1 in Forbidden Planet earlier and have just discovered that I now own a copy of the TF Vs. GI Joe Annual. Yes, the one that was released last week!

I read it this afternoon. I get what it is, but I'm not sure why it exists. I loved the original run, but why did we need a twenty page synopsis of it? Seems a lot of effort to draw a whole comic for the one gag. Still, as ever, the art is great.

It's just a synopsis? Glad I skipped it then.

It's imagining that the original 13 issue run was turned into a film, and then this comic is the 'comic book adaptation of the film' - so in effect it's a new 20 page version of what took 13 issues to tell previously.

Don't listen to his trickster words. It may be only 20 pages, but it feels like 200.

I have finally had the opportunity to read the last three issues of this series. I had to stop picking it up due to financial constraints, and I've only just begun to get back on an even keel - fortunately Comixology threw a sale our way so I grabbed the digital trade so as to break my enforced fast.
Oh, that was worth the wait. I don't think I have enjoyed a Transformers comic that much in quite a while.
If I thought it had been breakneck beforehand, the last few issues simply stomp the pedal through the floor and hurtle along. So much glorious madness as the scope and scale of things expands. It has that sense of grandeur and cosmic scale that makes you expect to see Kirby's New Gods or the Celestials dropping by at any moment. So many mad surprises as well - the sibling of Primus, the secret of General Hawk's tomahawk. The new Cobra Commander and his plans.... So much... head...exploding...
And the art mirrors that demented energy as well - feeling at times like the whole story is tumbling out in a single, breathless sentence, and that the creative team are trying to squash the lid down on a comic that everything won't quite fit into.
All that and a better version of Cybertron versus Earth than the most recent live-action film managed. I loved it. Pure escapism and full-octane tosh.
I think that in due time I am going to need to get a print collection of this - it is the sort of thing that can sit proudly on my shelves alongside Simonson's Thor.

I have the Quintessetial HC on order.
A tale of this majesty deserves the best treatment. For fans of Scioli he did a Super Powers back up strip in Cave Carson has a Cybernetic Eye. Trade is out now and I recommend it. Sadly curtailed before it could really build up a head of steam but worth a read.
