Hmm, think I've cheesed off one person who already bought. Oh well, my own fault, I should have remembered Lulu do various discount offers throughout the year, I've used them before.
As they do a lot of them, rather than try and keep people constantly updated on what discounts come up I'll add a bit to the sales page on the website making people aware of it and advising they Google for the current one.

There will be an exclusive Ralph version of the book. where for a mere extra £20 it will be a 304 page 196000 word opus where the words "SPECIAL TEAMS" are repeated over.

It's currently selling better than the versions with other words in.

I'm very pleased with how fast Lulu has been sending these out, I actually could have taken a couple of extra weeks over it and still had time to get some in for AA!
My very big and very heavy and almost certain to annoy commuters on the train (especially as I'll have a suitcase and over the shoulder bag with me) box of books for AA arrived today as well.
[Don't tell anyone, but Lulu actually sent me 2 more books than I ordered. Why don't you all buy 20 so as to get two free?]

I once rode up to AA with a boxed Quantasaurus Rex sitting in the seat next to me.
And I saw how much Mr Davidson had to take back with him the last time he visited
(speaking of which.... Does your schedule allow for another pre AA stock taking visit Nick?)

I think it's getting from International to the hotel that'll be the real fun part. Philip has pointed on that on page 256 the two columns are the wrong way round, just in case anyone thought I was being especially existential there. That's probably the number one mistake I should have spotted. Based on comments, I think 98% of the people who have bought so far are in this thread-- so thank you all! |

I wouldn't Andy. It's a huge book and you must have proof read it very quickly to turn it around before AA. If that's the only layout error then you've done a brilliant job. It all looks great.

Yeah, I read the file and the pre-final proof copy about 10 times from start to finish and still managed to miss it. The result of being so familiar with the text it still made sense no doubt. That's all my fault rather than anyone else's.
We're looking into revising that mistake (though Andy has changed the file I'm having trouble making it work on Lulu, it may be once it's gone for Amazon/Barnes/ISBN status the text has to be fixed. It may also be I've only just got up after a night shift and am groggy, I'll try again over the weekend), the AA copies will still have it, though that just makes it an ultra, ultra rare misprint editing! Like Doctor Who peeing over a shelf in the Delta and the Bannerman novelization. It shouldn't affect the readability too much though.
