Did Spider-Man appear in the Wide Awake Club? Did I imagine that?

You imagined that I think, sure it was on BBC.
Captain America was on WAC.

Ah the short-sightedness of large corporations strikes again.

Well that at least shows the high profile of the show, that they felt the need to specifically name it like they do Doctor Who.

I would take a returned Dixon over DW.
With DW we have the audio, scripts and novels off all the missing episodes. Many of them even have official recons and animations now.
But most of Dixon is missing! Completely!!! Proper lost media.

But soon we must enter the era of z-cars...
I'm not sure about the replacement for Andy. It also made me think about how the domestic life of George and Andy disappears in the colour era. What happened to Mrs Andy?
I have a hankering to watch Juliet Bravo now.

FIF have found some McCoy educational films. From FB: "ANNOUNCEMENT: Missing Sylvester McCoy Shows Film is Fabulous! and De Montfort University’s Cinema and Television History research centre are pleased to announce the recovery of two episodes of television, missing from the official archives: Work: Journey to Work (Broadcast: 1st February 1978) Work: Unemployment (Broadcast: 8th February 1978) ATV produced the television series, which encompassed eight programmes about work. The educational episodes starred Sylvester McCoy (credited as Sylveste, his moniker on ‘Vision On’ and several other television shows in which he appeared during that period). The two missing episodes were discovered in the collection of a deceased private film collector. Both prints are suffering from early vinegar syndrome. However, they can be cleaned and the content scanned. Digital files will be offered to the ITV Archive, for preservation purposes. For more information on the Film is Fabulous! definition of a missing episode, please visit: filmisfabulous.org.uk/what-is-a-missing-episode/" -Ralph
