I may have given the Deaths Head II tpb a go just for THE BODY IN QUESTION but in tried and tested piss-poor Panini quality control I saw that all the copies in FPG were already visibly falling apart despite being new, so I passed. Honestly, Panini, when will they learn? Is there another company which has such poor production quality on their books? I think not.

The only Panini trade I owned I bought online from a bookshop and it has remained in good condition. I think that's the way to go if you want a Panini trade, you aren't going to get a decent copy on the shelves.

I won't buy a Panini trade. Their name is linked to falling-apart books in my mind.

I've bought both of the Deaths Head trade, the first from Amazon and the second from FPL. Both copies have ingrained dirt on the first non-card page (the one that has the Deaths Head logo). I can visibly clean it if I wet a finger and run it down the page. I've noticed similar problems with the Titan Spiderman trades. I think you're right. There does seem to be something wrong in Titan's printing facility.
My copy of Volume 2 also contains graffiti scrawled across the page by Sigmund Furmite or someone, but I won't mention it further.

Reading his Marvel Appendix profile, I have to ask anyone who read him: was his series as garbled, random and messy as the description makes it sound, or did it hang together? (After all, the original DH hopped around time & space a lot and managed)
Also, personality wise - does he still have the original Death's Heads total amorality and avarice, or did that get dropped?

The initial 4-issue mini-series was pretty readable and reasonably coherant. The ongoing series was...less so.

Rereading the Marvel UK bits on Marvel Appendix does make it look considerably less coherent... Though it also introduced me to this chap and his dodgy-conspiracy-agency bosses D.U.C.K. , and now I really want to read the comic he was in. "Stand back, civilians. These alleged happenings do not concern you! The existence of this robot is a state secret--this unconfirmed siting is a matter for the authorities...You are not authorized to see it!"

It was all genius. Simon Colby's DHII was over blown and mental and issues 16 was just insane.

I'd say the storyline in DH2 was pretty weak after the mini, though I did love Simon Coleby's art on the book after Liam Sharp left.
Not so fond of the Salvador Larocca stuff when he was a Jim Lee knock off.

Keiron Gillen. Now there's a familiar name.
It's been long due for Death's Head I to come back.

Don't like the horns, but I need to see more of the rest of him before I decide if I *like* this interperetation...

You don't see much more in the issue.
I read SWORD #1. I thought it was dreadful. Trying too hard to be zany.

Sword 1 is already out, apparently DH is in the first arc.

I thought so too. If it tries less hard to be zany and wacky it has potential. Though I don't think the artist is the right choice for the book.
#2 was out last week IIRC.

#2 was out last week IIRC. It sure was. Turns out Beast gave Death's Head the "Freelance Peacekeeping Agent" line.

I shall have to pick it up. #1 was inoffensive enough, and I'm nothing if not a TOTAL DH1 COMPLETIST.

Iam also having a major geek-chub over Iron Man 2020, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Girl and Spider-Venom-Girl. AND all draw by JR Jr? *Win*!
Oh, and for those who care, the trade of S.W.O.R.D. which collects the Death's Head arc is out now. I should hopefully have my copy waiting for me when I get home from work this afternoon!
