His 11th Doc run was fabulous. -Ralph I’ve been reading his Immortal Hulk in trade and his current run of Guardians of the Galaxy as monthly, he does Weird SF so well. You been reading either of those, Ralph? Just caught up the current arc of New Mutants too... interesting, but not enough Cypher.

Last night, I read ‘The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix’ where Cyclops and Phoenix are telepathically pulled two-thousand years into the far future to help raise their time displaced, techno-organic virus infected son, Nathan Christopher Summers and fight Apocalypse.
While still on their honeymoon.
For about fifteen years.
F*ckin’ love comics.

Picked up the X-Men Legends first 4 issues - the Adam X story and a Weezie/Walt X-Factor tale. Nice art on both, the Adam-X story had the laziest fucking ending to the tale, and the Weezie/Walt X-Factor was nice enough and a prequel to Judgement War - Phil's favourite. Nice wee nostalgia dose, but nowt else.

Catching up on 6 months of Paninivision. Great reprint formats but they're polishing turds. Why has colouring become so murky in modern DC/Marvel? Why is so much of the art genric and lacking individual flair? Why can't most of the artists not know how to lay out a page? When did Hickman jump the shark? What happened to Al Ewing when he went to Marvel? This lot is going straight in the charity shop box. -Ralph Marauders is enjoyably mad though. Might get that in trades. I bet it's been cancelled. -Ralph

Hmmmm.
Surprised how much I enjoyed the 6 issues I read in Paninivision as I don't usually like Gerry Duggan's work and none of the other Hickman-x-verse books caught up my eye.
The main problem with the Hickman-x-verse is that the X-Men are now effectively villains and massive dicks but I don't get the sense the writers have clocked that. Mauraders is at least barmy and fun.
Oh, and no-one can die.
Fed up to the back teeth with each x-relaunch having Cyclops being a knobend. When was he last properly heroic?

This has been bothering me since HoXPoX. Because they do die, the new versions are just copies. Fed up to the back teeth with each x-relaunch having Cyclops being a knobend. When was he last properly heroic? Before he was possessed by Apocalypse. I will not be surprised if at some point it turns out he still has been for the last 20 years.

This has been bothering me since HoXPoX. Because they do die, the new versions are just copies. I want to know why they haven't fixed Cyclops eye beams when they resurrected him. Not being able to control them isn't his natural state. And if they ever bothered to do anything with Chamber they could fix his face/chest if he got resurrected. [I'm months behind, maybe they have done that]

I think the opinion is that the back up of Cyclops and Chamber was recorded after their accidents so their new bodies can't be restored prior to that point.

Quentin Quire got the team to modify his body with each resurrection.
And with Chamber his disfigurement was due to lack of understanding of his power, rather than a head injury like Cyclops. The clone bodies they resurrect into aren't damaged, so Chamber should [theoretically] be able to avoid blowing up his face. If not, someone could provide a harness to focus his power like in AoA.
