Hoist pic is on FMH here.I don't understand why sites like tfw2005 refuse to show photos from the collector club mag, but will happily post scans of recently released Japanese toy mags.

I think it's because the CC mag features pictures of figures exclusive to the mag intended for subscribers only, the Japanese magazines feature pics of toys that have already been revealed, just maybe shot in a different way.
Or it's just politics.

Politics. TFW cosying up to TFCC.
If you've published it it's no longer your exclusive property, it's out there.

It is because many TF websites are obsessed with being 'official' and TFCC is an official rag. The same websites who report oodles on 3rd party stuff but decry KO's as Eveeeeevil. TFCC could help themselves by making PDF's available to subscribers along with their paper copies so they can get the news straight away. -Ralph

Bear in mind Ralph that you're talking about a company that was still only accepting convention reservations by fax in 2009. You'll have to give them another few years to discover Adobe Reader.

Translation: We can't shift this to the mass market but if we cut them a good enough deal TRU might take it.

The obvious choice is Wildman (as in Andrew, I assume).
It's not particularly exciting, is it? I mean, those choices are so generic they could declare any toy coming out 'THE FAN'S CHOICE!!!11'

Wow what restricted choices. I don't see an option for dinosaur, tape deck, boat or anything fun. They are rather generic.

Megatron gets a "Nice Try" from me, but it suffers from the fail that has become the new standard for hasbro deluxes. It looks just as cheaty and cheap as the Prime and FoC deluxes do. Plus, I have no real interest in a $16 megatron that's barily more than a scout.
Bumblebee doesn't even get a nice try. It's definately a cheatformer. As bad as, if not worse that the "RiD" Prime line. Plus Bumblebee as a musclecar needs to DIE.
I'm biased against Orion Pax. Hate Sunbow. Hate most of the concepts that comes from Sunbow. However, it may have potential as being repurposed into a gobot. And the mold may have repaint potential.
Trailcutter may be the only one I'll buy. And he's not a terribly interesting or exciting character. Never felt that there was a hole in my collection without him, the same way I did with Jazz, Wheeljack, or Tracks, and still do with Huffer, Beachcomber, and the dinobots.

Cheatformer?

Some call them shellformers. I don't think that's accurate. To me a shellformer is a transformer like Big Convoy. All the beast parts become kiblle, while revealing entirely new robot mode details.
My defenition of cheatformer here is where you move all the alt mode parts into kibble, then replicate vehicle mode parts on the robot, so it *looks* like the alt mode parts became the chest, and legs, and such. Prime Ratchet, the second prime Arcee (As opposed to the first, where vehicle parts actually became parts of her chest), are both fairly bad cheatformers.
Of the four different mainline Prime Optimus molds, only one of those used the actual truck windows in robot mode cheating instead. (I mean come on... it's basically the same design as the movie... and hasbro has tons of experience making those cheat minimally. Only one of those four they could manage to use the real windows?)
So yeah. Almost all of Prime cheats really badly.

Animated Bumblebee then, his roof doesn't become his chest, I always thought this was a cop out, and we all know what would be best.

Not thrilled about any of them, I am. Trailbreaker I'm desperate for, I'm a big fan. But I sadly fear not 'G1' enough he is. He's looks to 'modernised', it's put me in a fizz!
