I could see that, colored after the black rhino. It's not movie black, but the color is significantly different from rhinox.

Preordered because that will be in the height of movie stuff, and I don't trust anyone to actually carry these. If Hasbro even makes them at all (which I also don't believe)

BBTS updates: Series 3: Fat Tankor, Rattrap & Crosscut Series 5: Arcee & Chromia :-( This has some implications for the UK. The Rattrap/Tankor case the was promised to the UK. It would have contained: 3 x Rattrap 3 x Tankor 2 x Crosscut
Obviously it has now lost the Crosscuts and been revised, in the USA, to: www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=HAS23696&mode=retail 2 x Rattrap 2 x Tankor 1 x Centuritron 1 x Scoop 1 x Armada Starscream 1 x Thundercracker
So there's a chance the UK might see some toys it hasn't before

Ugh. But to be honest, i was never going to believe any of these would happen until they were in my hands.

It 's a movie year. I've learned to be extra cynical in movie years. I never believe in non-movie stuff until I possess them in movie years.

But they are new moulds not repaints, meaning they will get a release in some form.

Rts rumble, a couple Animated, a bunch of DotM and Titanium molds would like to have a word with you.

Rumble and Frenzy got a Takara release and FP are using the mould this year. Animated Blackout Wingblade armour and the new Bumblebee mould all got Takara releases. As for the rest I could be wrong but I thought the Titaniums hadn't reached the final production stages and even if I'm wrong the line was cancelled. Generations will continue in some form so the moulds can still be used down the line.
DOTM seems to have been such a clusterf@#k it wouldn't surprise me, but again I thought most of the moulds did get some degree of release.

Well, my point is Hasbro canceled all those without knowing takara would release them. They had no interest in animated at the time.

First thought on Rook would be a Generations Tailgate repaint.
Strongarm - are we at the point of Generations homaging Energon?
I'm no fan of Universe Sunstreaker but even another go at a G1 Sunstreaker, Generations-style, wouldn't interest me - for that kind of thing it feels like MP is where it's at these days.

Wouldn't be surprising if Sunstreaker is a repaint of FoC Sideswipe.
I wouldn't frown at a more accurate G1 Sunstreaker, though. But he's not a character who's ever been on my list of priorities.
But all four are probably movie.

Did Skids have QC issues?

Yes, the hips were on the wrong leg, limiting the articulation.
You could pop them off and swap them over but that exposed another flaw on the toy that the ball joints inside the hips were on posts that were prone to breaking.

I'll be interested to see if the new run of Skids has the QC issues fixed.

Is that why he is currently at least $64.00 on Amazon US? I was wondering why he was so expensive, but if they have temporarily stopped production to fix the issues, that would explain a lot.

Four posts above Matt tmukhub.proboards.com/post/175776/threadColin: this wave hit in the middle of the Christmas rush and got gobbled up pretty quick. Mr Jetty and I had a discussion about whether it was underdistributed or not a while back. Evidently Hasbro feel there's a market for a rerun on it.

At least they realise it is a wanted figure and are doing a rerun on it. Obviously it seems the figures the adult collectors want are the ones they are under distributing or just down right refusing to distribute outside of North America, where the same old characters such as Prime and Bumblebee have been over ordered.

I'm hoping this, and the Cosmos/Swerve rerun indicate a change in attitude by Hasbro management.
Really Hasbro could do with a line similar to "Star Wars Legends" rerunning older toys. I'm sure there's some penny to be made making older CHUG releases available again

If that was the case, they would have given us the reissued G1 Dinobots we have been wanting for the past decade. Hopefully they do wake up and realise how much money they are missing out on by not providing for the adult demographic.

Post by blueshift on May 2, 2014 18:49:41 GMT
Given how much has been reissued, I assume the molds just aren't available. There's a massive financial difference between getting the molds out of storage for another run, and having new molds cast. Those things cost loads.

Post by Philip Ayres on May 2, 2014 18:59:51 GMT
In that particular case I think they'd like to but the moulds are shagged.
EDIT: what Matt said. If there's any toys it's worth doing it for it's the Dinobots
