Partly to fund the retooling. Partly to do a Scattershot in Scattershot colours - a CW Scattershot in Computron colours results in the wrong colour Scattershot robot arms Partly as a cheap remould cos they "apparently" didn't intend doing Comptron |

I hope it isn't. Prices are bad enough as it is at the moment. I'm really feeling now that I should have paid more attention to the more colourful/obscure combiners, so I'm in for this one. Looks good.
Hopefully we'll get a proper look at SDCC.

Looking at that Lio Kaiser picture - has the combiner head been remoulded? it looks more like there's a more accurate face under the lion hood in place of the lower jaw that Sky Reign has.

So I've had and sat on G2 Bruticus for a few days, while collecting my thoughts.
I've loved the G2 sets so far. And the care and detail put into Superion was mind blowing.
Menasor was quite interesting, too.
But Briticus, I feel like it feels rushed, and not as much love or effort was put into it.
•Swindle is orange instead of red for one.
•They really skimped on the paint aps, especially on the camo.
•The wrong decepticon symbols.
•Shockwave*
*Shockwave is loosely based on the Actionmaster deco, which isn't a issue. But it veers off so much that it makes me wonder why they don't go all the way and give him more G2 features, like a camo pattern too?
The lack of camo and deco in general is most evident in Onslaught and Blastoff. They both are incredibly bland and feel unfinished in robot. (Although I'll admit on onslaught that's really accurate)
I do find myself hoping Reprolabels will produce an upgrade set for this, and that's the first time I've felt that way with one of the giftsets.

Mine's due to be delivered today, hopefully NOT while I'm at the dentist! Swindle doesn't bother me so much, it's good enough as far as I can see. But our bang on about the symbols. The original may not have had ANY symbols ( www.tfu.info/1994/Decepticon/Bruticus/bruticus.htm) but if you're going to slap some on they should be G2. How's Brawl's waist? I'm 1 good version out of 3 toys so far |

Brawl's waist is still stupidly designed, but performs considerably better than his g1 deco counterpart.
Swindle's the awful one, at least as far as my particular version goes. Nothing on him pegs together and stays. Especially his legs, which have no connecting tolerance *at all.* Even in leg mode, they still fly apart.
I like giving the G2 combiners different configurations than their G1 versions. So wanted Swindle and Brawl to be arms here, but Swindle (my copy, at least) is completely incapable of it.
Brawl over-all is much improved.
Blastoff for some reason is largely just fine.
Vortex is beginning to wear down
Swindle, and Onslaught though are really showing mold wear. Which is odd as they haven't been used nearly as much as Blastoff and vortex.

A thought occurred to me.
I wonder if Takara or Hasbro Asia pressed Hasbro (US) to make Swindle orange to keep the red deco open *in case* they potentially want to do a Battle Gaia set later on?
Takara's done stuff like this before, forcing hasbro into a deco or other choice to keep an option open for themselves, even if they don't exercise that option (most infamously making Hasbro make the dodge ram Alternator into Optimus instead of their preferred Ironhide, then not using it at all except as an after-the-fact Kissplayers release)

My Takara Swindle also felt like that but I put that down to the generally **** QC on that set. I've never owned G2 Swindle but most of the pictures I see look midway between orange and red www.tfu.info/1994/Decepticon/Swindle/swindle.htmAre the knees OK on Onslaught? I've seen pictures indicating the same problem as Pyra Magna/Victorion. |

I don't have any knee problems on my pyra, but Onslaught can barely stand in normal robot mode (not as big an issue as bruticus since those joints are sideways).
As for the original swindle, all the pictures i've ever seen make him look really red. I also remember him as red.
But this guy is very distinctly orange.

Pyra Magna: Really? Look at the bar connecting the lower leg to the upper leg. Can you see a triangular piece sticking out? If yes then it's the wrong way round.

I don't know if it's the wrong or right way around, but she stands just as well as g1 onlsaught and hotspot do, and that's all that matters.
G2 onlsaught's knee joints are so loose he can barely stand, though.
