Okay, so I realized you can make THREE complete unique combiners, with nothing but Dead End limbs.
Combiner 1: • Dead End • Brake-Neck • Streetwise • Prowl
Combiner 2: • G2 Dead End • G2 Brake-Down • Dustup • Smokescreen
Combiner 3: • Under-3 • Bluestreak • Lightsteed • Flowspade

Unique Combiners consisting of only one mold for all four limbs, all with unique decoes (IE, CW Firefly and UW Firebolt are basically the same deco, but cw vortex and uw vortex are different)
Helicopter, 3 Combiners-
Lambo, 2 1/2 Combiners-
Formula 1, 1 Combiner-
Jet 1, 1 combiner-
Jet 2/3, 4 Combiners
Truck, 1 Combiner-
Armored/Jeep, 2 Combiners
Tank, 1 Combiner
Motorcycle, 0 Combiners
Spaceship, 0 Combiners

I've been doing similar. Scourge/Black Convoy/Whatever with Megatronia's limbs is nice. Hotspot with a set of white limbs is also pretty good. Gonna have to open up Battlecore....
...And I've just had an idea....

That's why we have a backup Phil.
Skywarp! Yes, of course. That looks quite good like that.

Starscream's Ghost possessed Cyclonus for like... five seconds in a bad cartoon 30 years ago.
"Galvatronus" has more visually in common with Starscream than Galvatron. A crown that looks more like what Hasbro designs for Starscream than Galvatron, plus a big honkin' seeker chest.
Starscream's Ghost possessing Cyclonus and transforming into a combiner, and forcing any TF nearby to become limbs makes far more sense than Cyclonus randomly becoming Galvatron who happens to have a big honkin' seeker chest.
Therefore I posit that Cyclonus' combiner mode was intended to be Emperor Starscream/Starscream's ghost.
Why would they change it for release? Could be that the reference was too obscure, and it lost out to Cyclonus's stronger connection to Galvatron... but Hasbro would rather do something from five seconds of a 30 year old bad cartoon that fewer people have seen than hardcore fans will admit to, than they would something actually new. But there was also an emperor starscream in the same line as a $40 toy. I'm betting they changed it up so there wouldn't be two giant emperor starscreams in the same line.

A Cyclonus that turns into a Galvatron combiner which makes no logical sense at all seems like exactly what they'd do. Remember the bizarre Xaaron combiner? (and Fun Pub, thinking of that terrifying Thunderwing combiner!)

The moulding resemblance between Galvatronus and Emperor Starscream has been much commented on over the years, but that's as good a reasoning as any as to why it should have been Starscream and why it isn't.

I know it has been. But it seemed as whack as Galvatron to me. Because earlier I was trying to puzzle it out as to why he's modeled after Starscream. I started thinking that maybe it wasn't Starscream at all "because... didn't he come from Skywarp or Thundercracker in the movie?" But even if he did, that didn't explain the sculpted crown, which is trademark Starscream. I'm honestly unsure how I jumped to the ghost, but checked the Wikipedia and he was one of the ones Starscream possessed. Ergo, I think I stumbled onto just why he's Starscream. The whole point of my post.

So with Combiner Wars II, aka Power of the Primes effectively dead in the water, it struck me that now Jazz is officially the least used CW deluxe. One use only, and no sign of any retool or repaint.
The beasts are wildly different, but I'm pretty sure each one is has a mold mate. You know, I'd have thought that if there was ever a mold that'd end up one time only, it would be a beast (snarl).

Is CW Wreck-Gar a member of any of the teams? I can't remember. I'm just thinking with the Deluxe out now I can probably dispose of this Legends one, but I don't want to get rid of him if he's a chest piece for a combiner. Rodimus was going too until I remembered he's part of Optimus Maximus.

Isn't he like Legends Groove? A chest piece for the Hot Spot / Inferno torso? You could replace Groove with Wreck-Gar as the mood took? You see in CW you are meant to mix and match your toys at liberty!

Hmm. Maybe. I also think I'm fooling myself if I try to claim binning one Legends figure is in any way making active choices about controlling the size of my collection.

Wreck-Gar was officially pimped as being part of Sky Reign. But that didn't get very far since it has no interconnectivity to Skylynx.
