This gives me pause for thought. Firstly about the amount of missing comics that makes Paninivision harder to follow, and also that at £4.50 an issue, Panini books are now the same price per issue as Comixology trades.

Sunshine!!!
No, no, no. We don't do sunshine here. I learned that lesson when I was a kid and all my toys went yellow. You won't catch me in sunshine!

More seriously though, is there a website that tracks Marvel comics releases and how they inter-relate? Browny pointing out that there's a whole issue missing from the start of the current X-Men story about Kitty Pride has really irked me, just like the two complete Iron Man stories that got dropped a year or two back so they could catch the title up.
I'm feeling an urge to trade-wait and spend the £13.50 I'm now spending a month on Panini comics that way instead.

X Men Prime is left out of the new Essential X Men it sets up X Men Gold,X Men Blue and Weapon X . I had recently re read X Men Gold 1 and the reprint here cuts and edits of couple of pages. I'm guessing the new Essential will be mainly X Men Gold and X Men Blue with maybe some occasional Astonishing X Men and X Men Red.

Seems odd to miss the set-up issue when the volume relaunches with a 100-page issue!

The idea of missing stories is still niggling me. I went through all my AU and Legends issues today to list what's in them, then compared that to US title lists for those comics. I see they're pretty good on the main series in Legends. Avengers suffers by having to include all the event series too. I like the way they include peripheral stories from other titles.

I was looking at that myself yesterday. It's quite a saving now for a sub isn't it. Didn't used to be that good. Seems to bring the price back down to about three quid an issue. However, having been through all my back issues yesterday to see what's in them I'm still half of a mind to switch to buying trades instead. Neater and more compact.

If you keep in line with the Panini schedule, I don't think they are that much more expensive. For example - X-Men Gold vol 1, covering issues 1-6, is currently £9.28 delivered from Wordery. Six issues in a Panini book is 2 x £4.50 now.

Trades are usually £17-40 in local place hence why I rarely buy trades.

Moved entirely to subs for MWOM, Legends and Avengers. £15 for 6 issues? Can't say no to that. Paninivision is more just to read things. If I ever want to re-read things a lot that is what trades are for.
After subbing 2000AD, my newsagents visits are just for the odd Titan comics from time to time or the ocassional Commando!

Giving Spidery-Man another go with the new volume number. I am doubly astonished that not only is the best strip in it by a country mile a Venom story but also is a Mike Costa comic!!!
I am shocked! Doubly shocked!!!
I...think I will stick with it until the Venom strip ends. Phil: how long did it last for in Marvel US?

Proper lump in the throat stuff in the Silver Surfer strip in the current MWOM. ...and such a contrast to the mindgrindingly awful GOTG strip that proceeded it! -Ralph

Great sadness as the current MWOM pops through the letterbox (with the back cover creased to buggery - thanks, postie). Great sadness as it features the last part of the wonderful Slot and the Allred's Silver Surfer series. The penultimate part had me blubbing. How will I cope with this?
The omnibus of this series is on pre-order. Paninivision comics have to be recycled from time to time due to space reasons but I must have the Silver Surfer series in my collection!!!

Without spoilers, what's it roughly about? Do you need to be heavily invested in the character to appreciate it?
