The Paninivision books are not published with the intent to be kept, the collector's edition monicker is bollocks as we all know.. Indeed. For me they were a cheap way to 'keep up' with Marvel compared to much more expensive US single issues. That was their unique USP and why they did so well for so long. I generally recycled most of them save a few MWOM's if they had a story I particularly liked. -Ralph

I disagree that the CE's are not designed to be kept they were a handy way for people the gain access and build a collection of american comics but the last several years the market place has changed with graphic novels more available especially partwork collectionsus digital collections. The spine was a sales gimmick that didn't work out
This pandemic hasn't help the CE line and when and how it will return is still up in the air plus there is the planned DC line aswell. I do feel that 8 titles a month will be reduced though.

I thought they were quite collectable when I was buying them. I've still got all mine. I don't see what the difference between those and American issues is in terms of both being just superhero comics. I don't need to buy it all again in books.

Had t realised they'd gone on hiatus. Did think it was unusual that none were on the shelf in WHSmiths yesterday.

There's still a couple sitting on the shelf of my WH Smith that haven't been either purchased or set back. Given the post brexit shitehousery we will no doubt experience, I fear for import prices on comics so a viable UK option would be welcome.

From: downthetubes.net/?p=125088"advance news of some which revealed some upcoming changes to superhero titles being published by Panini UK. Wolverine and Deadpool has been cancelled, and two new titles are in the works – X-Men, launching 16th April 2021 and Batman – Guardian of the Night, launching on 6th May, the latter presumably replacing the stalled Batman – Tales Of The Dark Knight, which unfortunately launched just before COVID hit the UK. downthetubes believes a wider revamp of Panini’s superhero title line-up is in the works, after many titles went on hiatus last year because they were dependent on newsstand and WHSmith sales." -Ralph

They have in addition to the Wandavision bookazine thing, a Deadpool one.
I picked up the Wandavision one of course, bit of AWC Byrne action - hard to say no.

What's in the Wandavision? Tempted for some oversize Byrne!

It's a US format bookazine - so not oversized.
The two issues with the kids and Master Pandemonium.

Keep an eye on the site. Titles tend to bounce in and out of stock. It's an annoying quirk.

Got an email from Panini:
'Dear Mr Burns
We apologise for the disruption to your subscription and thank you for your loyalty and understanding in these challenging times.
We have been busy planning the next incarnation of the Collectors' Editions and we're delighted to share with you our exciting plans.
Marvel Universe X-Men launches on 15th April. It will be £7.99 for 112 pages every 4 weeks (the same pagination as a 5-chapter graphic novel), and will usher in Jonathan Hickman's incredible Dawn of X story arcs, kicking off with House of X and Powers of X. We'll run through all the supercool tie-ins (Marauders, Helions etc), and generally make sense of all the sometimes complex reading order for you, as we arrive at X of Swords and beyond.
Marvel Essentials launches on the 27th May. It will be £7.99 for 112 pages every 4 weeks, featuring Dan Slott and Al Ewing's epic Avengers/Fantastic Four EMPYRE storyline. As a rule, this is the title where the big events and crossovers will feature (unless it's X-Men). There will also be the odd surprise from the editors, given the wealth of great material coming from Marvel right now.
The remainder of your subscriptions will be transferred over to both of the following titles:
Marvel Universe X-MenMarvel Essentials
As a valued subscriber you'll be receiving a brilliant cost saving against this new format for the remainder of your current subscription. We will also be offering you an exclusive and preferential renewal rate when the time comes to renew your subscription.
We are also excited to share with you our plans for 2 further titles available at newsstand and on our online shop.
Amazing Spider-Man launches on 25th March priced at only £2.99 for 48 pages every 4 weeks, running two stories every issue, continuing with Nick Spencer's run, on the HUNTED story arc.
Batman Guardian of the Night launches on the 6th May priced at only £2.99 for 48 pages every 4 weeks, starting with James Tynion's Batman run and ably backed-up by Brian Michael Bendis' Batman Universe.
We'd like to thank you for your continued support over the years and we look forward to publishing many more great stories for you to enjoy with us in the coming years.
Yours sincerely
Panini Subscriptions Team'

Postage costs more than the comic.
A late night detour and finally a copy was found at shop #7. Hooray!
Feels like a proper comic in hand. £3 (cheaper than Panini's other Spidey with cover tat title). This could do well if it gets decent distribution.
