This is why I finally lost patience with US comics and their 'a comic comes out whenever we can be arsed' schedule after getting used again to the nice regular UK newsstand experience where comics come out regular as clockwork and even state the date of when the next issue is out! It's easier to budget for comics if I know when they come out and how often they come out.

I feel it necessary to return to the subject of Incredible Hulks. We were surprised to see it survive Secret Wars when it relaunched with A-Force and Contest of Champions. One small problem there Contest of Champions & A Force both ends with issue 10! marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Contest_of_Champions_Vol_1marvel.wikia.com/wiki/A-Force_Vol_2Ooops. A bonus problem is that the current Incredible Hulk is spiked at 15 too! marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Incredible_Hulk_Vol_3_15I had an theory of an obvious replacement backup as Champions v2. It features the Hulk, it's a popular title and I'm willing to bet it ends up being reprinted somewhere. marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Champions_Vol_2And because The Champions also features Ms Marvel I wondered could her strip be moving over to Hulks too. But discovering the main Hulk title is an ex comicbook I think we can mark Panini Hulks up as a goner as of issue 12! Which begs the question, what replaces it?

I may have to subscribe to both. Paninivision round my way seems to be just loads of copies of X-Men, Avengers and Hulk.

Is that because they know if they made the title accurate no-one would buy it? I don't understand why Hulk had to die. It's super weird how they are trying as hard as they can to diverge the comics from the film universe, which is the most successful they've been!!!!!

It's not.
It's been proved time and again that the success of the films does not have a significant sales impact on the comics, so why bother being a slave to the Film/Tv versions.

Andy Indeed, and it just pisses off the comic readers which is not a good idea when such publications now sadly sell in niche numbers. If it was thought there was money to be made in getting movie goers to read the comics the films are based on I have no doubt the companies involved would go for it. It's why you'll see ads for Marvel related games and toys in cinemas before a Marvel Studios film (but not for comics) and why when you walk into a Disney store you will see many items of Marvel related toys and merchandise but not one single comic or trade. There just isn't a crossover audience. Most folk who go to see Marvel Studios films aren't intereated in reading Marvel comics or even know they exist. You'd be surprised how many people think Iron Man is just a movie character. -Ralph

I dont' mean make everything look and act like the movies (thinking of that awful Nick Fury decision!) but it's crazy that Marvel are going out of their way to get rid of pretty much all of their iconic characters. Off the top of my head, we've lost (assuming they've not come back: Captain America (dead/old/evil) Iron Man (evil/dead) Hulk (dead) Thor (depowered) Fantastic Four (god knows) Wolverine (dead)
It just feels mad as a box of frogs! I mean, there's keeping things fresh, and there's 'we hate what makes us popular and what people like'

Your list again: Captain America (dead/old/evil) Iron Man (evil/dead) young & female OR Dr Doom Hulk (dead) female Thor (depowered) female Fantastic Four (god knows) Wolverine (dead) old OR young & female Spiderman rich & successful OR young Young & female is very in for being a superhero at the moment.

Yes, but all those aren't the actual characters, they're replacements. Why are Marvel replacing the iconic characters at the one point in time they're popular?

And yet Panini still print Dr Strange and Agents of Shield living in hope.... Different market they're aiming it, remember. Civilians and kids are far more likely to come across Marvel comics on UK newsstands and supermarkets than in comic shops or online stores. -Ralph

She-Hulk is not the current {Spoiler}Hulk replacement, Amadeus Cho in Totally Awesome Hulk is. And she's been around longer than I have, her current book is reflective of her character. Also, as a retailer, these younger "replacement" characters have been great for introducing a new audience to comics, and some of them stick around as readers [until Marvel pushes them away]. There are a few old guard who complain about "everyone being turned into a girl" but they still buy the comic for some reason. Marvel's current business practices are what are making a lot of folk stop buying comics. The recent digital code announcement [from Feb, Marvel books will no longer include a digital code for the book you just bought] has lost me some big Marvel customers. Every crossover event Marvel does loses me Marvel customers. Every Marvel relaunch [NOW!] after a crossover has performed worse than the previous one. Marvel seem to be trying their hardest to put comic retailers out of business.
