Who wants to have a go at the Weetos spot the difference competition? Spoiler
Foolish Pinwig! This is obviously a fake. I am not a professor. Chum, Marvel TFUK never lied to us. Look at the proof of Pinwig's scan! -Ralph

Completely undoctored true original scan. Honest.
Although in doing that I realised whoever did that competition put the pictures the wrong way round; the second one has all the bits in that the first one doesn't.
Look at the plate under the microscope - the missing one should be on the right.

This strip is still one of my all time favourites! It's one of the few Earthforce strips that really works for me. The humour here is well done (it may be Wildman's finest hour on yhe UK strip) and the story suits a 5-pager. Downhill from here though. -Ralph Snow Fun is good too though.

So, that Weeto's proffessor is looking through 2 Weetos, looking through another Weeto at ...another Weeto?
What in Weeto is he trying to deduce?

It's an odd story because it's essentially a recap with a conclusion that establishes what the UK stories will now be, so it should have come a few issues before, but as simple as it is, it's far more in keeping with the traditional style than the last couple of stories.
I agree with Ralph in that it's a super showcase for Andy Wildman. Tremendous art. Watching him develop has been interesting, his style has evolved since he arrived on the comic. This issue is really good, probably better than the 'organics in armour' feel his later US comic issues became.
It's funny, I've always felt that Senior and Wildman are the definitive artists for Furman's Transformers and in my memory Wildman was around much earlier than he actually was. But I've found on this re-read that Will Simpson is just as much a part of what makes the UK comic so important. He's superb at giving Transformers a sense of scale.

On a similar note I had always felt that Barry Kitson was a definitive artist on TFUK but he wasn't on it for long. My reading his issues over and over when I was a certain age coloured my memory of how many issues he did.
Dan Reed for me is often unfairly overlooked.

Lee Sullivan was the third part of my triumvirate of TF artists, with the unmistakable Dan Reed close.

Yes! Lee Sullivan always used to feel like a poor man's Geoff Senior to me back in the day, but I think with hindsight he has his own distinct style.
Dan Reed I still don't quite get on with. His style is too fluid/organic for giant robots to me.

30 Years Ago This Week: Issue #266 GI Joe and the Transformers: Blood on the Tracks - Part 2: The Joes make short work of the Dreadnoks and chase them off. Cobra Commander isn't happy. Meanwhile, Megatron watches the proceedings from afar and dispatches Dirge and Bombshell to the plant with a plan in mind. Riding away from the plant, the Dreadnoks encounter Bumblebee. Life in the Slow Lane... : Jazz and Sunstreaker race across Route 43 to New Orleans in search of Megatron's crashed satellite, determined to find the lethal gas canisters before the Decepticons. Meanwhile, Runabout and Runamuck do the same for Megatron and Drag Strip and Dead End for Shockwave. The four Decepticons arrive first and begin fighting over the canisters. The Autobots see this and are dismayed until they discover Prowl safe and well, hiding out at a local farm. He explains that he has already made the canisters safe. The three Autobots enjoy watching the Decepticons fighting over nothing. Elsewhere, Transformation announces the arrival of more new artists, John Marshall and Michael Eve, while the impending absence of Andy Wildman is due to him now working on the US strip; Action Force move into space with new story Shuttle Complex; and on the letters' page confusion still reigns over the existence of a second Transformers film, the King of the Mechannibals says he has found Micromasters videos on sale and Olufemi Adeyemo of London SE17 claims to have been a Transformers fan for ten years.

No, it is a bit obscure. The cover is Andy Wildman interpreting the New Orleans location of the story I think. The strapline - 'Sudden Fright Chicken' is a pun on 'Southern Fried Chicken', which would probably make 'Transformer style' equate to 'Kentucky Style', as in a reference to KFC.

The Micromaster videos are a lie! As is the second film! Lies!!! -Ralph There's a lot of lying on that letters' page. One, the second movie, two the Micromaster videos, and three being a fan for ten years... since 1980? Although the second film is just a case of people misreading a previous letter. That was then followed by dozens of letters asking about a second film and Dreadwind trying to say 'there isn't one! stfu!' but no one listening.

Never mind the pun on the cover, I could never work out the actual picture. Are Jazz & Sunstreaker jumping over the truck? Behind it? In the air? There is something weird about the perspective - but doesn't matter because of the brilliant cartoon chicken in the passenger seat!

I've always had a soft spot for that cover art, but not so much the laboured pun. Don't remember the story well at all.
