My greatest fear has come true!!! Spider actually climbing up the inside of the toilet bowl towards the lip where bums go! Decades of always looking for spiders before I sit vindicated!!!

One of my GREATEST FEARS came true late last night when, upon removing my posterior from the throne, I discovered a NEST OF SPIDERS under the inner lid of said throne. The clue was in seeing one dangle from a web as it swing about above the water.
I usually operate a 'catch and release' policy as I fear spider ghosts will get me but I must admite to frantic activity with Toilet Duck, a brush, some screaming and a great deal of flushing.
Shoved the brush in there again this morning with extra application of the 'strong' variety of Toilet Duck just to be sure.
Bastards...bastards!!!

New occurrence for me today, I actually got bitten by a spider. I was shifting some piles of books in my classroom, getting organised, and put my hand down on the floor after moving them. Felt something wriggle underneath it, then a pinprick sting in my palm and this big black thing shot out across the floor. Tiniest of red marks left behind, almost unnoticeable.

Not the toilet, but I surprised myself recently when it occured to me that I have been allowing a spider in my living room to coexist with me for almost a week. Without reaching for a sub-dinosaur killer class object to hit it with. This is somewhat unlike me, perhaps I have mellowed slightly in my old age.
Mind you, it probably helps that it hasn't moved when I've been watching it - that is the thing most likely to set of my reflex-arc I think.
