It shouldn't surprise anyone that Cheetor was an homage to Prowl.
It's the same head design, and the exact same robot mode-
Beast head becomes chest, just like the datsun.
The front legs hang off the back like wings, like the datsun doors (even more obvious in mainframe's cg model as they're even angled correctly)
The rear legs become robot legs like the rear of the car. They even spin around.
The crotch piece deviates, but it still has similarities in it's design.
I've been quite vocal on this, and that Terrorsaur us directly bsed on Starscream.
"Manta Ray," "Panther," and "Under 3" are exact reprentations of these early concepts. It's amazing how little they changed.
Though "panther" is quite a bit more simplified.

What's really interesting is how complex these are for happy meal toys.
It's easy to see why some (like the autorollers) were ditched.
The four we actually did get were really complex for happy meal toys, and even they got reworked to make them less so.
Also interesting that the original idea was to make straight forward McDonalds versions of the flip changers.
That leaves me with complicated feelings, if I'm honest.

Woah woah woah. Does this mean that after all this time we can finally call "Under 3" "Optimus Prime"?
Interesting that the concept pitch for BW is that Megatron is genetically engineering Earth's creatures and Prime fights back with an "Animal Cyber-Chip".

Ooooooo. If it's the original Primal I would be very happy. I have the Universe repaint but my original is long gone.
I'd go for a reissue Megatron over the Kingdom one if both are out at the same time.
