That review and those photos do more favors for Dev, than all the pictures and press hasbro has released, to date.

You're not wrong. I'd almost *almost* persuaded myself I don't need this.
Who am I fooling.

Nobody.
Things you don't need: Food. Heating. Water.
Things you do need: Devastator.
Simple.

Bets on the Takara release being similarly shiny?

The Takara release will have no paint at all, and added RiD-style interactive insignia on each figure's chest. Because who knows what they're going to do at the moment..?

Interesting. Not enough to swing it for me, but interesting. From what we can see of the figures there, though, it doesn't look like Takara have gone and added much more in the way of articulation or changed the molds significantly...
Of course, I am just basing that on the merest glimpse of an ankle. But that's more than enough to get me going...

When someone gets the toy - is anyone going to see if you can swap the legs over?

I'm sure we can get his legs over.

...shows a Transformer in full working order.
I'm... I got a touch of Devastator Blindness going on. Which should I get?! WHICH?!?!!! Does any mother-hubber know which they're getting yet?

It won't be the SDCC for me.
It's a toss up, depending on what changes are made, between Generations and Unite Warriors but the individual guns, despite the fact mine will rarely hold them and it gives me something more to loose, look like swinging it.... and moving the expense further down the year.

That's the thing, the expense. How much more will the SDCC version be over the standard Hasbro release? Do we know yet?

TFW2005 has it at $179.99. I'm not sure how much over the standard release that is...

Of course, depending on how much/much better the Japanese version is, a cheap deal on the likes of could sway me....

and moving the expense further down the year. I like that kind of tactical thinking. I suppose if you're importing, the cost probably won't be a lot different getting US from bbts or Japanese from robot kingdom... And moving the cost past the summer... Clever indeed Mr Ayres!

There is also the outside chance it'll come here, and unlike Metroplex there aren't any electronics to bugger about with. Kapow's estimate for the retail one is £135-£140. Which I suppose would be the same in dollars.
Metroplex was $115 on Amazon.com. Mine was $165 shipped & import tax prepaid.

That's a good video. We can change the legs over but only if someone remodes the legs for them both so the tabs are on the other side. But it looks like the arms can be changed with both having the square pegs & the track clips.

I presume Pete has some lingering anger from childhood that you couldn't, unlike the Special Team.
Still can't swap the arms!

At least there are no millimetre things. -Ralph We may come onto this subject later when I have one in hand and if it struggles to hold it's weapons.
