BBTS want $220 for it. www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/list.aspx?list=19095For us UKers that's about £160, before postage, and before the inevitable CUTA. I'd be surprised at being able to get it into the UK for less than £220 through them. HLJ will be lower but there's still postage and the red hot poker roulette wheel to consider!

A quick comparison based on a larger, heavier product like Trypticon - we paid £140 from Kapow, Robot Kingdom he'd be $160 plus $60 for the cheapest shipping option of parcel, which you know gets CUTA'd every time. So from Robot Kingdom he'd be £152 plus CUTA. So I can see Kapow or Omegalock being a very good option for the Takara Devastator. Especially if Amazon aren't shipping the Hasbro one outside the US, that would be the cheapest option for that version. Unless it comes out here at retail obviously. I was just looking at my Platinum Predaking invoice and shipping for that 18 months ago was only $9.50 from Amazon. If they eventually make Devastator available to the UK, I doubt it will be massively more as the box isnt much bigger, maybe even be about the same volume and it might even weigh less. So from Amazon it might come in for around £130, though probably closer to £140. I'd expecct UK retail to be about the same and can't imagine it being any less until UK retail sales if it gets released here and lasts long to go on sale. The box (assuming unites is about the same as CW) isnt all that big, but if it goes EMS from HLJ Im sure it will get cuta. The other shipping option has a better chance of coming through unmolested, but is only insured up to about £50. Given all that, even £180 from Kapow for the Unite version seems like a great deal.

Amazon currently say $216 to ship to the uk but helpfully won't do the conversion for me which xe.com says is £138 something

Oh it's doing it now?
I've preordered Unite with Kapow. Hopefully have it to open Christmas day.

Put the fiver deposit down for Unite Devvy with Kapow. A December release is more affordable for me (don't have spare pennies before then) and this can be my one big toy purchase for the year. Not much more than what I expect the CW version to retail for (and which would be hard to get in my area if not impossible) with the bonus of the extra features that the Unite version offers. Worse comes to the worse I could always offload it at cost if pennies are tight at the end of the year.

Then yesterday they sent out an email saying it'll be in within days, and I'm struggling ATM. December release, despite being twice as much, it'll be easier to scrape the money together by then. At lease United though has significant differences, instead of just some slightly different paint on it's arse, though.

This is a very good plan. I concur with all. Kapow/Unite it is, and a jolly Christmas for us all awaits.
Although that said, I might just hang on a day or two to see if Omegalock put up a deposit order. They have a tendency to undercut Kapow on a lot of items.

Omegalock have come in at £175, £25 deposit option. Going by previous comparisons I would hazard a guess that means Kapow's will be at the top end of their estimate when it finally comes.
So then, about £40 difference on the Hasbro one.

I think it depends on how important elbows are to you...

And extra guns for the Constructicons and being able to flip the face from two eyes to visor version. The extra guns clinch it for me.

I can live without all of that to be honest, but a better paint job would be worth the extra to me.

Elbows, guns, and december release are what helps win it. Better deco is icing.
Dev has a visor, so cartooneye face is pointless. The changable head/face is a nonstarter.

I'm seriously thinking I could end up leaving them in individual robot modes quite a lot so the extra elbows are a huge plus. Scrapper especially has a fantastic sculpt.
Paint certainly is worth some extra money to me too.
Also I figure if Devastator is released over here , especially if places other than TRU it will end up on sale at some point. And then I can have both. Bwwwwwaaaaahhhhaaahahahahahaha!

Yes. But that's what I thought about Metroplex. I still don't have Metroplex...

I think it depends on how important elbows are to you... I tried preparing the children's pizza and washing-up without bending my elbows. Very difficult. I pitty poor Hasbro Scrapper. I invite my fellow Hubbers to try various tasks without bending their elbows! Feel the frustration poor Scrapper feels!!!!

Ok, don't try drinking a glass of beer without bending your elbow.

This is the kind of thinking I come here for. Rational scientific experimentation. I will henceforth attempt all operations elbow free. But this may involve having to enlist help to brush my teeth.

Putting in a Columbo DVD, no problem.
Using remote control, no problem.
Typing on phone to post on The Hub, difficult but possible.
Getting up off the sofa, surprisingly and disturbingly difficult (had to get kind of rocking action going).
Doing press-ups, impossible (one gets into pelvic thrust territory).
Doing a wee, heh, no problem at all, baby.

Cartoon accuracy or something stupid like that. It looks terrible. Especially on this toy.
I am groing more and more happy with passing CW how this version, each time I see it. The individuals are looking so much better.
