It's certainly hard to criticise when you take a step back and think about what this actually is. It's astonishing. Who'd have thought it was ever possible? Exactly. -Ralph

Ahh yes! That's the other one! I recognise the skirt! Yes I think this one looks better than the Perfect Effect set. The shoulders sections work a treat. Quite like the Mixmaster slipper as well.

I think it makes Devastator look a bit daft, as if someone has shoved big bits of soggy toilet toll up his armpits.

Hmmm... they could do with being slung a bit lower. Will be better looking when colured, and look better than flippy flap shoulders.

It was going to be Takara for me, until an agent of mine was told he was being dispatched to the US for a couple of weeks. At which point, given exchange rates, etc, it'll have to be Hasbro for me. If he finds one...

Takara for me. But a major reason is I can't afford the hasbro right now, but CAN save up a bit a week to take a huge bite out of the takara one.

I'm wondering if I can stay on the fence long enough that I end up with neither. Do I *have* to buy him?

I think the Takara version works out less than UK retail on the Hasbro one, depending on CUTA.

If you dont get hit by CUTA, then HLJ/AmiAmi prices work out cheaper. But, you are gonna get CUTA'd.

We did the maths a few posts back and concluded the Kapow pre order would be cheaper than HLJ+shipping+CUTA

I'm wondering if I can stay on the fence long enough that I end up with neither. Do I *have* to buy him? Nope. Nobody _has_ to buy anything. If you can't afford/don't have space for/will receive too much spousal aggro for purchasing something then the option always exists to skip it. I'm probably skipping Devastator entirely - I don't have a large enough attachment to Devastator, or the Constructicons from their appearances in the comic, and the CW one is sufficiently removed in engineering from the Diaclone one that it doesn't call to me on the "historical value" front. Given the price tag, and the size of it I can't really justify it. Karl

I'm staying on the fence for now. Of course I want this fella in the collection; I've never had a Devastator and I've always wanted one. I didn't blink twice when Metroplex went up for preorder, but this chap just seems too big and too plain. I just don't want to spend that much on a toy and get a 'meh' from it. Need to watch some video reviews to get the vibes again.
I was actually thinking that if I'm going to spend upwards of £140 on a Devastator, I'd probably prefer to get a good condition example of a G1 version.
I'll probably swing back the other way eventually. Maybe I'm just buying too much at the moment.
