Have you read MTMTE? -Ralph Hmmm? Baking powder? Come to think of it, Marvel's Magnus used to piss me off a bit with his self doubting. I'm just not sold on Magnus being a suit. But I agree I can't really judge that untill I've read that comic everyone bangs on about.

I dunno, you've held out this long, you should probably just wait another decade or so... ;-)

I have been very kindly gifted the Japanese version of this Magnus. I have not had time to open him yet but I have seen another copy side-by-side with the CW version. It wasn't until I saw them together that I realised there are a lot more differences between them than I had noticed in online photos. Unusually I can't say for once that one or the other version of a toy is the best one: I think they both look pretty good, just in different ways. Either version is quite nice. Worryingly they look rather splendid together as a pair on a shelf so I can see myself acquiring the CW version too at some point! But if anyone is on the fence as to which version to get I would say either looks fab.
Ickle Alpha Trion is a lot more interesting to look at than Minimus though due to his blingtastic purple threads!

Well that's good to know....
...having a Japanese Magnus on it's way as I do...
I love nice red thighs... but it was Alpha Trion that swung it for me.

Alpha Trion adds a fine level of bonkersness to the Magnus toy. I can think of no source material that explains why he is there! This appeals to my sense of the absurd though.

The greatest Autobot warrior of them all protects the greatest Autobot sage of all time!
By keeping him in his belly.
Hmmm. Needs some work.

He keeps him in his chest, thank you!
(in a bespoke seated cockpit snug no less)
Not in his bloody belly like frakking MP Hotrod v2!

The biggest mystery around this one is: Given the other CW leaders are £50, and Trypticon is £200, how the hell is this only £37.49..?

Post by Philip Ayres on Oct 8, 2015 15:50:46 GMT
Simples: leaders were reduced down to £37.49 last week to clearance the Armada Megatrons. Similarly the Voyager cores are about £17 in TRU at the moment.

As the Megatrons never showed up in the Burger TRU I doubt I'll see Magnus but it is heartening to know Magnus is out in the UK.

You are chuffing joking. This happened because I blinking bought one for £45 at RORC last weekend didn't it. After all that waiting!

You and me both! Well. Not that I was at RORC, of course. I mean I broke and bought him in the Kapow sale. Still, I see the extra seven quid as being not a bad price to pay against him not showing up in Toysaurus at all...

Kapow are responsible for my other fist shaking moment this week. I wish they'd given a 24 hour notice on their Facebook that they were about to pull a load of the more interesting items out of their sale. I went there on Wednesday to order toy show Armada megs and CW Cyclonus only to find they were back to normal prices. So I kept my cash. I'll get Cyclonus at TRU.

Yup, some have taken it as a sort of a hint the MTMTE version is a Pretender - look at the s2 Autobots!
Next you'll tell us you've not seen the bird of prey/owl face on the Leader Jets!

I saw that ten years ago in Infiltration. Until now I've never seen Magnus but as a redesign of the spaceship chest

My Goon Squad still haven't discovered things can go in Magnus yet. Many things have rode upon The Magnus though.
