We can hope.
I finally know whats has been bugging me about Magnus, well not bugging me, but why I haven't been quite as blown away as I feel I should be.
White thighs and crotch are neither IDW, at least mtmte, or G1 toy accurate. While I have no problem with the white on the sunbow animation model or MP Magnus it looks out of place here. Not terrible or even bad, but not quite right.
Wondering what Takara have planned for it?

If history is any indication, then like all UMs they release, it'll be a lighter blue, and more slavish deco to sunbow. |

Red legs/white crotch is what it needs. Blue crotch looks daft, as it needs more colors in it for contrast. White is perfect. |

I'm not saying I don't like the idea mind. It's very well executed. But he's not a G1 Magnus (am I still allowed to use the phrase 'G1'?). I mean he's not a modern representation of the original 1986 Ultra Magnus (bar the separate white Optimus ofcourse).

Whereas, being the squealing MTMTE fanboy that I am, that's completely what sells it for me. It's more than I'd hoped. And I'm trying desperately not to weep openly over how good it is.

The Magnus head is attached to the back of the body by a bar which should hold it in place. However even with Minimus in place it looks like there's a hole in the top of the body :-( 3p: Phil needs a neck piece with nice moulded wires. |
