Okay that confirms it for me Takara are going in a whole different direction which means Takara Devastator is going to be significantly remoulded and collector orientated.

What what what differrnces do you think they'll be between the two Devastators?

YAY. SILHOUETTES.
By which I mean: Fuck silhouettes.
Have I mentioned my dislike of silhouettes recently..?

What what what differrnces do you think they'll be between the two Devastators? A recent Takara silhouette shows scrapper and possibly others with elbow joints. So I'm convinced Takara have a more detailed/articulated version of the mould that isnt hampered by Hasbro cost cutting or child friendly approach.

Fascinating. I hadn't realised the changes would be so fundamental! Can't wait to get a better look now.

There is no way Hasbro will miss out on using a new mould if it gives them new limb options. My guess is that this is something the west will see further down the line in another guise and this deluxe groove will go the same route here as Quickslinger and Brakeneck. The fact those two have come out shows Hasbro knows the value of the original names.
This is probably Afterburner's mould?

I'm sure they make the mods to Megatron & Hotspot to make IDW themed Galvatron (you only need an extra turrent on his back & shoulder pads) & Soundwave. But the DX Groove - that is one thing I need to see. Shouldn't have to wait too long. Takara revealed Superion2 weeks after their silhouette tease. That won't stop me sticking an HLJ pre order in when it comes up and turning Rook into spare limb #3

Well, that Groove isn't much of a surprise, although for my own personal preference I prefer the more scale-accurate, Legends-scale Groove that Hasbro put out. I'm more interested to see what Hasbro are going to do with that mold...

Is it me, or does Groove seem like a heavy and clever aerialbot retool?
I want it, but largely because the legends groove is just bloody awful.

Decent as a bike, ok as a figure. BUT adds nothing to Defensor, who's already got chest armour. And he's a bit tricky to get right. What with Blackjack not attaching right and the quality roulette on Powerglide it's not gone well for integrating Legends into the combiners.

Groove just needs some armour covering up the front wheel to get a good Afterburner toy. Maybe it could double up for arms?

If they can retool the molds that much, I wonder if we will get some Terrorcons?

I'm impressed.Best of all it should make a great Wreck Gar if thats the intention and of course a more heavy remould will make a great Afterburner.

I do like the look of Rook a lot, but a Grooved up Defensor is very nostalgic.
I have, however, decided to not get Defensor and just focus on the Autobot combiner. With Prowl, Wheeljack, Mirage, Ironhide etc all mentioned, it's getting pretty exciting. Gimme a Jazz already!
They also must repaint Air Raid... Surely.

It is concerning for the viability of the line in Japan if only the third combiner is a store exclusive.

That full fledged deluxe class combiner limb Groove from Takara-Tomy is just not fair.
Boo Hoo.
I'm not getting it, but damn damn damn are the Japanese lucky.

With the Groove retooled - I can see its not going to be to hard to get Cutthroat if they keep the core body. Only thing is the robot/bird head.
