I really do need the Unite Computron.
I already have Hasbro Scattershot, which I am very annoyed at (even though he's great) but I need Computron.

I would too, but I fear they're Mech Ideas aren't they? the company that went bust? No chance of a reissue. Those two being missing is putting a real crimp on my Wreckers collection.
That and the fact I never got as far as buying that glorious looking Impactor that came out last year. So a bit of an all round fail really.

Well bly me, I'm not looking forward to paying over the odds for those inevitable e-Hobby Jumpstarters. But that mold does work *really* well as Topspin.

Flip the colours (were they gang moulded in G1) remove the wings and replace the front guns with drils.

Bearing in mind tones in low res internet pics aren't often on the nail (although that won't change a red to an orange) I reckon Takara have this sorted. Much more striking. Gosh that's one good looking figure. SEX as Shockprowl might say.

I don't think they look the same, but I'm not seeing a huge difference between them quality-wise. They both look like good toys, and have nice looking colour schemes. I think if I was still mail-ordering much stuff a the moment I'd probably just opt for whichever was cheaper/easier to import, because it looks kind of "six of one" between them.

EDIT - and the Hasbro one actually gives you more toy for your money, which is an added point in its favour.

I see they've gone the painted back of Sacttorshot's forearms route for dealing with the Computron upper legs problem. It's better than I thought it might be but not great!
Having True Friended my Voyager Scattorshot to "a good home" I may have to rebuy one to be Scattorshot now!
