This I think we have established! long game to play; these things are going to run for a good while in one form or another.

I'm taking a wild guess: core- starscream L arm- Thundercracker R arm- Skywarp R leg- soundwave L leg- ? Personally I'm hoping not. I'm hopeful that either they are the three newcomers, and at most one established character, or that they are a completely new set of folk entirely who happen to be using existing moulds. But that is just me. Karl

I'm taking a wild guess: core- starscream L arm- Thundercracker R arm- Skywarp R leg- soundwave L leg- ? I've been thinking, and I'm really hoping that this isn't the case, but I'm afraid it will be. I want the 3 jets out of Air Raid, all the same size. I can NOT believe they wont be doing some Decepticon jets, 6 or more. I mean, hello? cash cow? In the line that eats itself with repaints, such obvious and desired repaints must be done. Surely?!

I dunno, the more I think about this the more I'm coming to the conclusion it won't be anything as imaginative as the ideas here. It'll be a cheap way to put out the unused moulds as a filler to pad the line out. The dedication has gone into recreating the four SPECIAL TEAMS! the rest surrounding this line has been a making it up as we're going along bit on both sides of the Pacific.

Yes! Why not. This makes no less sense than sticking Ravage's head on a car if you only ever looked at it using averted vision you might get away with it...

I don't think this means anything. Snakas has nothing to do with takara, so he's not really a teaser source. And the artwork doesn't match any CW mold in existance.

No, I don't think it's a teaser. It looks like a mashup of various figures to me. I love the fact it has different feet. But it's no less daft than anything else we're seeing now. Infinite permutations of the same moulds. I just thought it amusing.

It's not a teaser:
Snakas is just a japanese fan. Him issuing an official teaser would be not unlike Tony Bakala issuing one.

Hmm Sunstreaker looks far better. I prefer Prime, Ironhide and Prowl, but theres not much in it, being a bit more original toy accurate is just mytaste. Not liking Mirage though.

I... actually prefer the Hasbro Sunstreaker and Mirage. Which makes me some sort of weirdo, I know. And the a Reprolabelled-up Prime looks better than Takara's - although it's a lot more hassle, of course.

I'm not really on board with this combiner anyway, but overall the Takara version looks better to me, especially on Prowl which is vastly superior for my money. Where Mirage is concerned I much prefer the Hasbro shade of blue, but like the white Takara chest.

Fascinating what just swapping some of the colours around does on Prowl. Just shows you how difficult it is to get it all right. Takara use exactly the same moulds don't they? So anything on the same sprue is the same colour? I'd love to know which parts are on which sprues so you could compare the different routes Hasbro and Takara took.

Looks to me like Hasbro had 3 black sprues 1 grey and at least 1 white black Wheels Thighs hands and arms
grey waist combiner joint kness and fist/foot socket
white everything else
Forearms could suggest a second sprue but I cant see any other white parts turning black on TT version so they might just be painted. Maybe the torso too.
Just because of the amount of white there almost certainly is a least 2 white sprues maybe 3 or 4.

The more versions of a mold there are, the easier it is to see how it breaks down, with BW Dinobot and Classics Starscream being the examples that prove the theory.
Compairing Deadend, Brake-Neck, Streetwise, and Hasbro and Takara Prowls, we can pretty strongly guess what's on what sprue. Add to those coming soon Smokescreen, G2 Deadend, G2 Brake-Neck, and Dustup, we should be able to break the mold down exactly.

Two things: Their optimus's torso mode is a color mess. The hasbro looks soooo much better. Takara's is hard to understand what you're looking at.
Second, it amazes me that neither hasbro or takara really tried to make the combined mode's "official" limb layout different than Menasor, considering the molds are the same ones (as opposed to rook or a jet replacing a stunticon) Hasbro: Dragstrip swaps sides. Breakdown becomes an arm, deadend becomes a leg. Offroad stays the same spot. Not much different, basically an arm and leg swapped. Takara: offroad and dragstrip trade places. No other change.
Neither of these changes the silhouette hardly at all. I'm surprised neither company made their "official" configuration a complete leg/arm swap. Both dead end and dragstrip as legs, both offroad and breakdown as arms.

All the photos of Unite Devastator I've seen so far have made him look more anime green than toy, but that one looks a darker green. Wonder if there is an actual difference.

Sorry, I didn't word that very well. I meant I wonder if there's a difference in the greens between the Hasbro and Unite versions. The Unite one looks lighter in most pictures, yellow tinge, but obviously with photography you can't tell.
