If you've owned Gigastorm the accessories that are missing change EVERYTHING about the base modes. I mean I knew I was missing the pieces to connect Motormaster and Onslaught but the way Brunt comes apart to add to the city and gives it the moving parts.... so so good. Can't wait to get the batteries to power this.

Just found the car launcher which I have no recollection of knowing was there in Gigastorm.

Old style Legends? IE Legions?
Or the current ones?
I was going to break out the old style ones, but then I realised there're just six and that's stretching it a bit!
RTS Megatron Starscream Thundercracker Skywarp Megatron Tank Purple Megatron Tank (Archforce)
New style is a bit better
Megatron Starscream Thundercracker Skywarp Nemesis Prime Acid Storm Bombshell Skrapnel Blackout Viper

Oh! Oh! Oh! Of course. I knew I was buying those smaller scale Legends for a reason other than blind stupidity. Where did I put those...

I think 3 pages of posts, from Hasbro reissues and New Aquisitions, more than justifies giving reissue Trypticon his own thread!

This is a thing of beauty. I love how it makes the original Metroplex look so small. Your Scorponok is in ace condition!

This fella's got more accessories than Mrs P's jewellery draw. No wonder complete originals are hard to come by.
I just put the batteries in. He walks. HE WALKS!!
I have not been this excited by a new toy since... since... I dunno. I am a kid in a sweet shop here. I so wish my Omegatron still moved because there has to be a throw down between the walking giants here.
This really is a 'moment'. There's a 12 year old in me who can still vividly remember looking at the 1986 US toy catalogue I still have somewhere, gained how I do not know, staring at the toys we were never going to get and thinking, I wonder if I'll ever manage to get one of those one day... and now he's in my hands.

Have you base mode'd it yet for the motorised features there? The one on the right works better on mine than the one on the left.
Walking he reminds me soooo much of Gojula/Zoidzilla. In fact I wonder if Zoidzilla's prominance in the Zoids line factored into the decision not to release him here? But there again we didn't get any of the motorised TFs in the UK!

Flicked the switch, first a sigh of relief the electronics were working, then Zoids flashbacks. Base mode transformation now... Did this chap come with stickers originally? have they all been pre-applied here? And, where can I read about the origin of this toy? what was he originally pre-Transformers?

However you're not the first person to wonder if it did come from elsewhere..... As such nobody has ever presented a possible alternate origin.

Interesting. Does that mean Metroplex is a Hasbro original too? They compare very favourably; similar size, similar base modes, similar numbers/types of accessories, but Metroplex lost out on the electronics. I'd assumed because of the fact they're essentially bases for a toy scale that didn't exist back then that they had both come from somewhere else. The minibots *kind* of work with them.

Metroplex is vaguely Diaclone: all the Scramble City stuff is planned but cancelled next year Diaclone toys

That's beautiful. And nearly convinces me to get it. *Nearly*. And yeah, these city bots are exactly why I was picking up all the Legends figures - so they could go with Generations Metroplex. Which I never got. Guess I definitely will have to pick up a Titan Wars Maximus so I can finally justify them...

Can anyone think of a small platform with a 5mm peg on it? I was thinking of putting one on one of Trypticon's revolving posts to stand a figure on.

Micromasters and Action Masters have holes in the feet. I am not aware of their mm-i-ness though.

I need something with a peg projecting down from it to fit into the bit that goes round, which is 5mm.....
But you may be onto something with Micromasters: Groundshaker!

What about Countdowns red gun seat thing? Yeah suggest that AFTER I put the Micromaster box back in the cupboard! That works REALLY well actually. Apart from the whole being red thing. Both Groundshaker and Skyhopper have the right platforms for you to stand a Micromaster on.
