Advice for G2 comics?
I've never read the G2 comics, and I'm currently looking into making a purchase. Being a relative novice in the area, can anyone tell me what a decent price for a single issue/whole set would be? Also, is it actually worth getting? Is it...guff?

I recommend that you look in Forbidden Planet, if you're near to one. I've seen several shops selling the hardcovers for £4.99 and 3 for 2 (much to my annoyance, I had just completed my collection of paperback reprints. I'm almost tempted to buy them again).

I'll have a look tomorrow but I'm pretty sure that the Glasgow FP has a piss-poor TF section.

Last time I checked (last week) they had 2 copies of the 2007 movie prequel and one of the 2007 movie adaptation and that was that. They got rid of the Titan trades (in states of disrepair) in a sale last year. I don't know if A1 have any other than several dozen copies of End of the Road HC at a tenner.

Yeah i can get both trades for 20 quid off Amazon, which i think i'll just do!
I haven't been to A1 in ages, because it's a little out of my way, and their selection of comics is a bit....rubbish.

I got both G2 trades from discount bookstore The Works about a couple of years ago for about £3 each which is a bargain in anybody's book. I still haven't got round to reading them yet though but I will do.

Yeah i can get both trades for 20 quid off Amazon, which i think i'll just do! Well worth it at that price. It is a bit different in tone to the original Marvel series - significantly grimmer and plays up the "war without end" tone a bit more than the preceeding series. Quite a good read I think though. I used to be in A1 quite often back when "G-Fan" came out monthly - it was the only shop I knew that actually carried it. Now that it has switched to quarterly and FP:Glasgow carries it I tend to have less call to go in there. Karl

To have the complete collection you need the 2 trades, Gijoe #138-142 & G2#2 & UK G2 #1,2

Not to be too pedantic but you don't need the UK G2 1 & 2, as that's just a way of kick-starting the story without any crossover with G.I. Joe and while the art is good, the story is a bit of a mish-mash. You don't even need to have read the GI Joe issues in order to grasp the story and Ghosts while it looks good has no real bearing on the G2 story at all. If you want to read it, Steve Bax has it on his site hereAndy

But though not required, you will in time come to desire G2 UK #1-5, that short-run title of awesome tatness.

It was me. In the space year 2043, I invent a time machine and pop back through time and write several Transformers stories, just for a giggle. Thus, I am responsible for 'The Official Generation 2 Annual'. Just not quite yet.
I am looking forward to when I create...'The Dinobots', the most astounding Transformers comic strip OF ALL TIME.

(Gah, we will need a properly four-dimensional grammar at this rate). I remember owning the annual and feeling that a beer is a valuable accompaniement to reading the tat contained inside. It has a comforting cushioning effect on the neurons. Karl
