It does seem an odd choice - there's a tiger in that Mini-Con set, so why repaint the wolf for a character best known as a lion?

Botcon has announced that there has been unprecedented demand and this year's box set has sold out. An alternative they are offering is 2005's set and this year's attending figure, which means they are going to unveil the figure in advance this year.

'Good' Sunstorm would make me Hunt Down all Botcon organisers and kung-fu them within an inch of their lives using my 6" Titanium Starscream and Thundercrackers as crude weapons.

It's definitely out of left field as they say. The vehicular mode looks good, but there's something a bit off about the robot colours.

There is absolutely nothing special about this version of Kup. How disappointing.

Not a fan of the mould being used. Nice to see Kup get another toy though.

Andy Wildman let slip on his blog that he's working on character art for Skyquake. Before the picture was taken down, it looked like Energon Starscream and I see Andy Turnbull has broken the news already in the other Botcon thread. Ah.
I'd have preferred a bigger toy, but I can see how the colour scheme would work. Just so long as they don't tone it down ONE IOTA!
Not bothered about Kup in the slightest. I find the character interesting enough especially after his IDW Spotlight but I'm not champing at the bit for an update. Looking forward to seeing Thunderclash, though.

I'm not a big fan of this particular mold, having owned a previous version and found it wanting. It leaves me somewhat unmoved to be honest. The possibility of a Skyquake version of Energon Starscream however does intrique me far more.

Given how bright Kup looks I'd say TC and SQ should be at least as bright as the originals. I enjoy enertaining the possibility that they might be made even brighter.

It occurs to me;
If this set is set when Kup is young enough not to have a wrinkly face, then how young are the other characters supposed to be?!?!
Are they just going to be protoforms?

2009 Elite Guard KUP A Cybertron Red Alert2 2009 Elite Guard SCOURGE D 2009 Elite Guard LANDSHARK A 2009 Elite Guard FLAK A 2009 Elite Guard THUNDERCLASH A
Thats the list i've got off the site - but just guessing what toys the other are going to be. Scoruge does look same age as Kup. Doesn't the UK Thunderclash original toy have lots of face detail. Guess that he'll be Cybertron Prime repaint. Then we've got 2 new characters.

The sad fact is that it looks like another year of AEC repaints. I really hoped being hte 25th they would eithercreated a story that had a big encompassing theme, even if it was an horendous character from each timleine brought together like the original Universe line or that the toys would be a wide range of figures from the past 25 years. If Thunderclash does turn out ot be Cybertron Prime that would be fairly impressive as it would be the biggest Botcon exclusive yet and would make quite a good cybertron mode TC. The other option would be Classic Prime the only draw back with that figure was an earth mode and since that doesn't seem to be an issue with Kup I be very happy with that choice to.
Unforetuneatly the other theories I've heard are Energon Rodimus and Landmine. I can almost seem Landmine but I hope it isn't Rodimus.
Flak - The obvious choice would be Cybertron Scattershot, either version. I dont own either, but they look good.
Landshark, I really hope this is something cool. The cyborg beast Cybershark remould as as more likely from AEC Energon Sharkticon.
I dont really see the point of Scourge theres seems to be a fairly good Titanium out there. Its like FP are just desperate to create a complete movie cast in the Classic/Universe line.

Might be slightly off topic, but wouldn't it be nice for Hasbro to show some love this side of the pond and send some toys to Auto Assembly once in a while?

I've gotten to like Leozack in the last year and that looks cool. Skyquake looks to have stayed true to the originals colour scheme so I have great hope for Thunderclash now.
