I do believe them that this was their pre-CW plan, though. Quite a few of these basic ideas carried forward, though clumbsily shoehorned into a format that did not work.

Not seen this bit on Starscream's instructions before.... and I own him! Twitter LinkSo you need TWO Custom Class Ratchets, a Ratchet and a Medix, to make this combiner? I think not! And while we're here: Twitter LinkMine remains unstickered.

Which Starscream Instructions are they? TFSS SG SS?

I think so. The jet is the line illustrated limb, as opposed to being greyed out and that matches that Starscream

The Tripredacus Council, from the final botcon set, Dawn of the Predacus.
The dumbest comic they ever did (so badly written the writer had to write an essay longer than the comic to explain why it "works.")

I respectfully disagree.
The comic was fine (though not to everyone's taste) and the essay was a response to the quite frankly, ill-natured hatchet job by a contributor to the TFWiki.
There were much worse Fun Pub comics.

I remember the disappointment in the Animated one for actually being good. The best one was the year they did the Classic seekers, and the comic killed off all the exclusives and focussed on characters who weren't even real toys (though they did make them in later years) [might be misremembering some of that though]

Rather than an actual review - the story was picked apart - and every choice pretty much attributed to an error on the part of the writer.
It was a story that was on a hiding to nothing, much like Regeneration One - the weight of expectations and headcanon's were never going to be satisfied.

Didn't it turn out that G1 Inferno was BW Inferno or something?
But I agree, no-one's ever going to write a satisfactory 'end of G1/start of BW' story, not least in 22 pages that also has to push a dozen convention toys.

Iirc JP left that in so if you wanted to it could be, or it's just coincidence.
However, given that charcters only have one name, the constant reuse on a world where the inhabitants can live pretty much forever is a bit daft (in-universe that is, well aware it's all Trademark protection).

Except that Inferno, at least, was definitely dead by that point, having crashed a shuttle into Cybertron to save the Autobots (and Smokescreen). ;-)

Aha, I see. Gosh those colours on the MW one are a bit bright compared to the original. That's a shame. There's potential there for some much more exciting repaints, although the holo one looks a lot better than the recent Siege one.

Holo mirage was nice but I wish the blue wasnt quite as dark. In fact clear with just a hint of blue would have been far better.

The problem with this hobby is the constant wondering about what might have been. That mould would have made a good Crasher in a Gobot set.
