So this is the 4th use in short order? Mmmm. I understand some of the complaints now.

Fan club members getting their mags have revealed that Thunderclash is a re-deco of Energon Rodimus. Pics will prob follow at a later date elsewhere as the fan club mag has the exclusive for now. Patience is a virtue. -Ralph

Thunderclash pics now up on the club website.
This year's set is doing nothing for me, there seems nothing special about them. The moulds seem tired - couldn't they use something more recent, or not previously repainted? Plus, to me, they just don't say 25th anniversary. Well, at least it's some consolation for not being able to go this year.
On the plus side, I do like the new head sculpts, especially Scourge and at least in Thunderclash we are getting something more all-encompassing than usual, which suits the anniversary year.

Oh, Leozack and especially Skyquake also come under the "all-encompassing" banner. I forgot about those for a minute. Actually I quite like the Skyquake, but it's still another tired mould. Speaking of Skyquake, the eBay auction for him on the previous page of this thread looks like it was cancelled by eBay.

Thunderclash is surprisingly nice!

The colour scheme on Thunderclash is fine and evokes the original toy's colours. But the mould, though decent, just does not say Thunderclash the character to me. Which would not be an issue if this was just a random repaint with generic name re-assignment syndrome. Hey ho.
Och, I'm not complaining anyway. It's not like I pre-ordered the box set of T'Clash and co!
Skyquake and Leozack tick my box, however.

I am actually in agreement with that really. The colour scheme is decent, and whilst not the same colour pallette as the original Thunderclash definitely evokes the same general sense. But for some reason the mold doesn't feel particularly Thunderclashey.
I have to say that of the ones that we have seen I do rather like Skyquake and Leozack though. The layout of the Energon-Starscream mold seems well-suited to both those characters, and I do think they feel more "right" than Thunderclash, or Kup.
Not that I am going to Botcon anyway either, so it is pretty academic.

As for Thunderclash - let down. No trailer, and not a flat-nose truck. And the colors are not quite right. Props for the idea, but - they could have picked a better mould. Pete (seems to only whine and complain about TFs lately) Yeah, I noticed that.

Botcon 06: Optimus Primal, Rattrap, Cheetor, Rhinox, and Dinobot. tfwiki.net/wiki/BotCon_2006In 2009, there were Universe versions of Cheetor and Dinobot. -Ralph That Botcon set is, next to the Classics one, one of the best ever done. Its a shame this year was a bit of a letdown and wasn't as cohesive.

Indeed. The extra add-on sets were much better, though I do covet a Scourge. And a set of Sweeps to go with him!
