Yes the boxset is lacking. Kup is wrong. Thunderclash is painted wrongly. Landshark is an incredibly extravagant personal indulgence by Rik Alverez and Flak as much as I loved the idea is just boring. Scourge is indeed surprisingly nice as are all the decepticons. All pale in crapness compared to the comic though.
Personally the 2006 set I prefer over all including 2007. Only Laserbeak and Buzzsaw seem a little out of place.

Was Landshark meant to be a homage to some character? Every other figure this year was.

I only wish I was. I wouldn't mind, I enjoy something new amongst all the homages but a, chevy chase b, using the biggest toy in the set for personal amusement c, using a mould that would have made a wonderful Thunderclash

More damningly though, it was just a really really boring figure.

Somehow it feels arrogant. I dont know why.
I like the mould a lot, the original was a big surprise to me. The problem with landshark is that the colours dont really give a different sense to landmine. It feels just like a colour swap.
Now if it had had Thunderclash's assortment of colours.

That does look good. any guess at which other character we are going to see & what toys are going to be used for them. maybe we can guess the toys before they release the pictures - seeing we know what Botcon are like with toy repaints.

The power of Pyro has overcome my mehness about this year's Botcon that was brought on by the Disneyland venue. Shame I can't afford to go.

HEAR YE ALL BOTCON ATTENDEES- if ANYBODY going to Botcon 2010 doesn't want the full allowance of toys, please contact me. I shall give you the money to buy up to the full allowance, for the benefit of the Hub and the charitable concerns of Toy-fu.
Obvious exceptions include whatever the "Elita-1 and Razorclaw" of 2010 turn out to be. I've still got a pair of them in the attic.

But would they do Ironfist? G2 line really had 3 layers of characters
the main ones - Optimus, Megatron
sub set - Pyro tubromasters [we are really covering the G1.5 line here]
then those poor toys - poweredmasters, calcar fearswoop, bulletbike

Like Pyro, Ironfist is currently enjoying new fame amongst the cast of Last Stand of the Wreckers so would be a popular and logical choice.
Hmm... With that in mind, it seems odd that FP have chosen to go with Pyro's revised G2 name, Spark, rather than his original name.
