I dug out Selects Ricochet because obviously he needs to go with the Artfire I got in the Pulse advent sale. My word we've come a long way in the last few years, haven't we. Ball jointed elbows? Fixed feet with no ankle rockers? I know this wasn't a great mould in the first place but he feels a bit out of place. I used to quite like this figure.
As he's missing a battle master partner I also made the mistake of reacquainting myself with the madness that is understanding the Nightstick/Fracas/Nebulon/Nightstick nonsense.

I never liked that Jazz mould. Coming after the RtS one it was always going to be a let down. And there was so much compromised to get a combiner gimmick into it... Still surprised they never tried to reengineer a Crasher out of it though.

All the bits that were the wrong colours wound me up. The way the cab became a small robot merged with the trailer was straight off ripped from Powermaster Prime, but the Transforming cab had been left off the most recent PM Prime and Ultra Magnus. I could see what they were going for with the Orion Pax but somehow the cab not turning into Optimus didn't work well for me
The Nemesis Prime cured many of the ills with the colours and the Takara Star Convoy was a better Prime but a not quite good enough Star Convoy

I have absolutely no memory of that one, but according to my lists I've got an unopened one somewhere. No idea where though. Odd.
I think from that era of Takara Selects figures it's the Super Megatron I regret not getting, and there were plenty of chances on that one.

If you find and give me your Star Convoy I will put him next to my Super Megatron (when opened). Thus you can be happy and I can be even happier.
Saw the PotP Prime in a charity shop here once. In the plastic though he looked a bit too... low quality?
