But what the hell is up with Starscream. Finally after 11 years a voyager in generations and it looks like that! COMBINER TORSO apparently! I kinda wondered that as my reaction to it was very much as it was to the first reveal of CW Prime. The difference of course being we'd already gotten a very good and more traditional voyager classics Prime and a couple of good deluxes by that time. Still longer legs would certainly help. |

Dreadwind/Darkwing are just Airraid etc just with new upper body. You can see the exact same legs have been reused.

Mr Ayres has been taunting me with this by text and I drove home frothing at the mouth needing to see what's been revealed. This looks jolly good indeed. As a taster of the third chapter, there's much food for thought here. I love the Jazz. Starscream will have to grow on me. I'm sure it looks better than that. I've longed for Voyager jets, so I'll be buggered if they're going to be crap.
Leader Rodimus looks the business. Chunky fella, not like the original, but a powerful looking leader.

This has been... a frustrating tease. But what else were we to expect with Hascomn comning? That said, I'm loving what we've seen so far. And that's why I'm so frustrated. I want more. MORE! Rodimus Prime is fantastic. We shouldn't be surprised that we're getting one given that this is, you know, the Power of the Primes, and all. But this is the update we've been waiting like... forever... for. I cannot wait for him to be available. And I also cannot wait for Takara to reveal a much better decoed version as soon as I've bought the Hasbro version. Starscream I actually liked the look of right from the get-go. Which means there's clearly something wrong with me. But this is not news. There was just something about the aesthetic that was more appealing than the previous Generations Jetfire retool. The revelation that he's a combiner torso too also explains the odd limb proportions, and makes him even more desirable. Jazz, Darkwing and Blackwind (or whatever) are looking great. But again, I want to know what their combiner gimmick actually is! (Although it would be really nice if someone could do even the slightest of remolds to those legs - they've been used too many times now.) But the crown of the line... PRETENDERS! WE'RE ACTUALLY GETTING PRETENDERS!!! Well, kinda. Sorta. Not quite the fully articulated shells that I was hoping for, but I'm just happy we're getting anything at all. They also seem to be the next logical extension of Titan Masters such as Clobber, Fangry and Repugnus, acting as slightly larger bodies and turning into weapons as well, I guess. I doubt the shells actually HFGs, but we'll see. That said, the news that there are bits of armour that the Titan/Prime Masters can fit in which merge with the combiners... that's glorious. And a superb play pattern. I really love what they've been doing the last few years. Now... just show me Unicron. That hint of "what's an even bigger threat than Titans" in that video... Yeah. Titan scale Unicron. Come on. Don't let me down! |

I dunno, I'm a bit unsure about turning the Titan Masters from heads into random boxes. I'd understand if they were engines. Or if they had transparent plastic so could glow when inserted into bigger figures.
