Why are half the Prime candidates Decepticons? How can they be Primes? Where's Rodimus? (not that I'm much of a Rodimus fan). And why Hound?! HOUND?!?! I quite like Hound, but, random much? It's okay, there's no way that Thunderwing could win. Everyone knows how bad he is. It won't happen. I mean, it's not like the clearly dangerous candidates ever win elections. ... Fuck. Thunderwing Prime it is. All that said, I am torn here. I'd kind of like Megatron to get it, because that would tie in really nicely with what's been happening in IDW. But... I also wanna vote for Arcee. A female Prime! And not just because it'll piss off all the fanboys who'll be disgusted at another... *female* (*puttup!*)... winning the clearly-rigged pole. But mostly. Although seriously a female Prime would be awesome. Dammit. |

Well, I wasn't gonna vote because I literally did not care.
But Optimus PRIMAL.
I despise BW being shoehorned into a G1 setting (particularly because IDW writers have been particularlyshitty with them), but it'll be worth it to force Hasbro to acknowledge the series that kept TF from dying into obscurity. And to force them into making generations include something other than "all geewun all the time"
And I will never accept IDW Arcee until they retcon her dumbass ugly and gross origin.

Well yes, that is the main issue when it comes to Arcee. At the moment I'm just trying to acknowledge that she's been given decent characterisation (and indeed leadership opportunities) by Barber. Or at least characterisation beyond all trans women being psychos. Which isn't the best message...
And yes, I'm torn on that as well, being a massive Beast Wars fan myself. *pets MP Primal who's still sat next to him on the sofa* I just like the idea of gender balance more...

Some intriguing options and that list and wouldn't say no to a nice Generations Star Saber.. but I predict we will get Megatron as the next Prime no matter the vote.

I am confused... They say that the poll is to choose the next Prime. But also that it is to choose the next leader of Cybertron. Surely Prime is an epithet which identifies the bearer of the Creation Matrix - not necessarily the political leader of the planet? Witness Optimus Prime, a simple soldier who rose to be Commanding General and Matrix Bearer, but was responsible to the Council of Elders(*) and so not a political leader, compared to Rodimus Prime who became Matrix Bearer in an age when the Council of Elders was extinct and was the leader of the planet(**).
You can't go around choosing the leader of your planet on the basis of who a doddering, rusty, old fossil of a robot throws a shiny Geode at!

I'd love to see Hound win just because. Hound who has spent virtually the whole 32 years of Transformers history sort of just being there. Hound the guy in the background who sounds like Jimmy Stewart. Hound who can do hologrammy things. Hound some how made this shortlist. Hound!

Ha, I did think that too, but they only just did Hound in Combiner Wars.
Someone involved in the campaign probably had a Hound toy as a kid, but its that randomness that makes me want to see how they would handle it if he won the vote.
