Is it possible the Prime Trilogy is Hasbro running through G1's characters and that the next iteration after that will be Beast Wars? At the rate they're churning through the characters they're going to run out at some point.

Man, a line with 'armour' to simulate Pretenders would be great. Like a whole line of energon Landmines.
Beast Wars has never been as popular as vehicles though, especially when they've had beast chaps in Generations (thinking of how Cheetor and Rhinox and Sky Byte seemed to shelfwarm)
Transmetals would be welcome though. Man, a new TM Cheetor would be amazing!

Okay, I had a really good idea what Power of the Primes could be. It's so dumb but it might be true!
I think the title might be LITERAL, and they are using a later gimmick from Japanese G1
Basically the big leader figures will be Primes, and, like Star Convoy they will have battery motors that make features work.
The little figures will all have hand-activated gimmicks but they will plug into the battery figures to make them work automatically (like Grandus's lift when he connects to Star Convoy)
Is this bonkers? Or do we think it's definitely some dumb app thing?

It's as good an interpretation of the 'power' title as any. All I would say is that electronics in toys is a whole new level of expense that we've only seen done in the most basic way recently - voices in Titans. More widespread electronics is going to be expensive to produce.

I would genuinely love there to be a new Grandus toy. If Titanmaster little men scale is retained in some way for POTP, Grandus would be a great choice.

So Titanmasters should be replaced by Micromasters. The leader and titan classes can still have interconnecting bases, and opens up a few more options for the titan class with straight up playsets, or g1 micromaster playsets reinterpreted as new citybots.
The micromasters could either be full normal sized micromaster/minicons, with complete transformations and basic articulation, or they could be smaller and more minimalist like titanmasters, only turning into vehicles instead of heads.
Though I would rather them be well thought out true minicon type micromasters (i still feel armada minicons are the true micromaster successors) than titanmaster heads or gen legends target minicons

It would honestly be odd for Hasbro not to do the only triplechanging headmasters when the voyager line is all about triplechanging and its somewhat expected that the next line will include beasts of some kind and Primal just won a fan vote.
I feel like Ive written this before.

Well, looks like we'll have our first reveal of the PotP toys in two weeks' time: news.tfw2005.com/2017/07/06/comic-con-2017-thursday-transformers-panels-343376 It's at 1100hrs PST, too, which puts it at 1900hrs in the UK - which makes it perfectly acceptable for me to sit with a glass of wine and watch the announcements come in. Unless, of course, they all get leaked on Weibo or something before then. Which they probably will. |
