I do not envy Nick travelling yesterday. I was supposed to be travelling down via Euston today, if the mission hadn't been scrubbed. It is not a good omen for what trying to get back from Chichester next week through all the engineering works would have been like. Glad I have postponed until January!

The UK is lashed by storms, with flooding, fallen trees and other problems disrupting the trains with recommendations in place from many operators not to travel.

There are lots of flooded road and fallen branches in my area at the moment.
A road near to me was closed for re-surfacing early this morning, with cones placed to force people to divert via a roundabout. However, the cones have been blown in several directions during the day, causing huge tailbacks in every street that leads to it.

Mind-boggling that high winds have resulted in flights from Scotland to England being diverted to land instead in France.

TRANSPORT CHAOS. Bus home has broken down part-way. Only one an hour on this route.
Driver is "turning the bus off for five minutes" in the hope it will work and says folk can "have a cigarette if they want one". Um. What. Now in the dark. On the bus.

Finally home an hour after getting off the bus. Knackered and dripping with sweat. I sometimes forget that Current Ralph does not have the build/fitness of pre-pandemic Ralph. Pint of orange juice inhaled.
