Be strong Shockers. Don't forget the accessories photo shows he has a separate smiling faceplate so the face might not be a problem. Look at all the extra bits he comes with too! loads of em!
Despite the fact this is the same problem mould, I'm feeling far more optimistic about Ratchet than Ironhide. Somehow he looks far better to me. I don't know how a change of waist can make so much difference, but I'd even go so far as saying this looks okay to me.

I am on record as having said I was waiting for Ratchet, but having seen him now I am with Ralph; this is bad enough it is making me retrospectively like Ironhide more (and I already liked him!). A comic-style redeco would have to include a new head/face at the very least to be acceptable.

My one gripe is his size. He is going to be bigger than a voyager and that won't work. My G2 Sideswipe MP works as a voyager, even MP Prowl kinda worked as a voyafer, but a towrring leader class medic Ratchet.
on the plus side - he's my favorite TF ever...but I want a Marvel comics version!

I'm going to take the risk and not order a Ratchet... yet! I believe you are right. And realy the red will do it some good. The mould really suffers from having those transluscent blue windows on the under arms - I mean, Ratchet's underarms are white, not transluscent blue. I get the feeling that this is going to be another MP Rodimus. The original MP Rodimus was full of problems, now we're getting a good Hotrod (although some will disagree). MP Prime 01 and 10 are also good examples - with 10 being far better than 01. Who knows...maybe this is Ironhide and Ratchet BETA version. Then again, the pictures show them clearly mistransformed. Especially Ratchet in that "mirrored" thing - I mean, it looks like there's just junk stacked behind the window of the ambulance. Dunno. We'll see. |
