That really isn't a good main pic on the listing. Makes him look like middle age has caught up with his gut and all the white just blends the details together, including the head. Not to mention the proportions of the windscreen being way off in robot mode is highlighted, not that I'm hung up on that or anything. |

Yes it was, it appears in MTMTE See. And Prime's battle station was rarely in the cartoon (about 3 times?) and every other episode had it just disappearing in transformation. Yet we'd never expect a 'true' G1 Masterpiece Prime to have the trailer inbuilt into the robot mode. (Or a MP Megatron that incorporates all his extra gun attachments). A true Ratchet/Ironhide MP would be able to have the sleds inbuilt as some sort of backpack when not in use and also be able to do the 'windscrean' look too. I don't think it would be that difficult. I used to have my G1 Ratchet toy sometimes wear his sled (or 'Probe' as I called him when I was young) on his back. Then, when watching MTMTE where Ironhide's sled cannon pops out of his back I thought that was the original intention. I mean - apart from the windscrean on the chest, there was no vehicle kibble on Ratchet/Ironhide in the comics and cartoon - having a sled allows for this on a toy. Never mind - it's still nice to have a MP Ratchet at last - but as some one said earlier, I don't know why they always make a bit of a mess updating the van brothers. |

Wise words, Hufferlover. I agree totally. I think they could have done a much better job with this mold. A larger sled (I called him 'Parts') could have hidden the robot modes difficult to hide areas, arms, legs etc.

Am I the only one really disappointed that Ratchet doesn't have a proper built in sled? I wouldnt be, if the robot mode was a perfect Ratchet, but when theres a pair of wheels attached to his backside and panels on his hips clearly suplus to requirements then a sled could have solved some issues. |
