Big, brash, over the top, a giant bot of Prime awesomeness. But that looks clunky, cheap and that open front....... I won't say it again for Shocks sake, but by God that's ugly. It's grainy pictures taken at a poor angle so I'll wait for more official shots before condemning it. |

Why are we worrying about how the cab opens to seat the driver? You'd never display it open so what does it matter? The cab doesn't look any less refined than Magnus's in the product shots and that's fine.

It's just the lack of thought. A small side door, a flap at the top, a secret opening behind the cab. It would look far better.
It'll come down to how seemless it is when it's closed. If there's a noticeable gap or problems pegging it in causing it to flap open then it'll ruin it for me. I'll wait till I see some better shots though. I won't even worry about the fact that they haven't shown the front of the cab with the panels closed in the leaked shots above.

Let me sell the cab to you: it opens like Prime's does in the Movie. I remain unsold. A couple of the Primes from the new movies have front cab joins and not only do they display more crack than a Detroit drug dealer, they're a complete bugger to click together and stay in place. Now obviously the front join won't be as complex as that but I'm not convinced they can make it look seemless enough. I won't make a final decision until proper pics are out. He may turn out to be just fine. In fact I won't even buy it then. I don't want just fine, I want glorious. We'll see. |

(Random - but not unrelated aside: When reading through the King James version of the Bible (as you do) a few years back, I was struck by a line - and I forget which book now - referring to "whosoever shall openeth the matrix", or something like that. Naturally I went to check to see for other meanings of "matrix", and discovered that, indeed, one meaning is a place to create life. Or, indeed, a womb.
Now, seeing as how Prime keeps the Matrix in his chest... Well... Yeah. Robot vagina.)

Yeah - looks much closer to the back-of-package artwork from the Powermasters line than the original toy did.
It's beautiful. I want it.
I look forward to being torn between this and Takara's version.
