In the events and meet ups bit on here the 2016 events have been sectioned off to their own bit. Would it be possible for current and upcoming events to be on the 'main' page and past events to be sectioned off?

Yeah, I can create an old meetup board and hive old ones into there.
Give me a few minutes!

Bring The 2016 ones back from the subforum then nuke that empty subforum too.
I read "Past Meetups" as "Psst meetups" but I realised that was probably true in most cases!

Done.
Just annoys me that subboards stay at the top, should be at the foot!

I'm considering creating a subforum for third party stuff as they aren't Transformers and we already have a seperate forum for toys that aren't Transformers. What would be best: moving this thread to the already existing non-TF toys board or having a new section entirely which could have a few different running third party discussion threads? Discussion would continue but be seperated out a bit.
Thanks.

Create a sub forum of this one (easy). Move this thread there (easy) Start a "Tell us about your latest 3P Acquisitions thread" Decide how we want to break it up: By manufacturer, by combiner toy group etc. When we've decided leave Phil alone for a few hours to take the knife to the 3P thread.

Yes that is pretty much what I was thinking. Keeps it out of the TF toy thread but allows those who want to chat about third party stuff to keep on as before. While I personally would rather not have any third party chat I do have to acknowledge that we have enough posters who do want to talk about it (and lurkers going by page views). There would not be any changes to the discussions other than that. Runs as before, just in a seperate section. Keeps everybody happy.

I don't think therr's enough to discuss to warrent a full forum. This thread has done just fine for meeting everyone's needs so far.

I'm also happy to keep it here, and not give the 3P stuff any more room than this. But if other people want it moved, then I'm also happy with that.

It appears to but I just don't understand why we need to have a thread about toys that aren't Transformers in the Transformers toys board. Maybe just keep the thread going as before but move it to the non-Transformers part of the forum? The only change then would be it's in a different part of the forum. -Ralph

They still represent TF characters though. If they didn't, or only a small amount of them dipped into the tf bucket and filled out the rest with non TF knockoffs, I'd join in. I'm not looking to argue the thread should stay, but I don't see the point to suddenly up and move it beyond that you don't personally seem to like it. This is like, really out of the blue otherwise as no one's yet to even bring up whether it belongs in this forum before.

Just because nobody has thought of it before doesn't mean it's a line of discussion that isn't worth pursuing to evaluate the pros and cons. We tinker with the forum's structure all the time as and when it occurs to someone or gets suggested - see the recent changes in cons and meetups.

Rename this part of the forum to Tranforming Toys rather than just Transformers, you can then include Gobots and Rock Lords etc. Stick the main Transformers subs at the top, then 3rd party transforming robots under them, everyones happy

Nah, I don't like that. We are after all a Transformers Forum, so TF toys should get priority!
But an other Transforming Toys subforum has possibilities.

In that case, I stand by my earlier statement that there's not enough to talk about for a dedicated forum. And breaking that down would be a nightmare because while there are a few strong firm groups, like MMC and Fans Project, these "companies" pop up like weeds. They change their names often, too. On top of that, the subversive names they give their figures are often far from memorable. He's on this same page, but I can't remember what that "mp" blurr is called. I just remember he's an MP scaled Blurr, by Unique Toys. I don't speak for everyone, but if I had to guess, probably a fair few here are like this. I think one thread not only being enough, actually circumvents a lot of these issues.

This is like, really out of the blue otherwise as no one's yet to even bring up whether it belongs in this forum before. Oh don't worry. I'm not even thinking about censuring, deleting or removing third party robot toy chat from the forum, merely moving it to a more appropriate part of the board. You or anyone else wanting to talk about those items would just click in a different sub board, that's all. Other sites have the 3rd party chat in a seperate section to avoid confusion. They are really different things. I personally don't feel the third party toys do represent Transformers characters as the makers do not hold a licence to make them and trade off of hard work done by other people without their permission but that is probably a different debate entirely I feel! I imagine we could probably agree to differ on that point. Feel free to start a thread about that aspect of third party toys if you wish and we can all chat about our viewpoints on that there. I agree that one thread covers it all mostly but I'm curious about opinions. I started to think about this when I saw third party chat leak into new acquisitions and pre-ordering threads. I just want to contribute towards keeping the board clear and consistent for posters and readers. This is quite a lightly moderated board which is why we have a chat before doing things. I can go in and change things anytime I want but I rarely do. -Ralph

Hmmmm. How about something like: 3p Acquisitions 3p General 3p Combined Robots 3p MP 3p Dinobots 3p Headmasters 3p Addons and Accesories That'd cover the major 3p themes?

I'm easy Godmods. Might be good to break up the 3P thread as suggested above. I like the idea of an 'Other Transforming Toys' sub-jobby. And within that something like 'New 3P Acquisitions' and '3P News and Pics' or sumfink.

I'm with Ralph on this. They are not Transformers (as in they are not made by Hasbro or TT and are not allowed to have TRANSFORMERS written on the box), so they probably should be elsewhere. After that, because I don't buy them, I don't mind how the sub-forum is made up.

Nah, I don't like that. We are after all a Transformers Forum, so TF toys should get priority! But an other Transforming Toys subforum has possibilities. I'd say that the "Third Party" (goddess, I hate that term), stuff needs to be moved out of the the Transformers section, on the grounds that they are not Transformers toys. I'd also say that the same thing should be done with the Knock-Offs thread as well. I think that the Transformers Toys forum isn't the right spot for the various unlawful stuff - I don't have a problem with people discussing it, I just think organisationally it should be discussed elsewhere. Either move them to the Other Toys forum, where I've always felt both topics really belong or I'd also support the creation of an "Other Transforming Toys" subforum which could then be a suitable home for discussion of Gobots, Machine Robo, Brave, Macross, Mospeada and the huge gamut of transforming toys which aren't part of The Transformers - giving it the breadth of applicability to justify being a subforum. Just my tup'enny worth. Karl

I rarely enter the third party thread so in that sense dont much care, but I do think the people who do use it view the content as Transformers so moving it out of the Transformers toys forum is probably going to annoy/confuse/distract the people that do. For anyone new to the boards it will probably be a bit confusing too.
I kind of like the non transformers transforming toys sub forum in the Transformers thread. It would provide a sensible home for Gobots Rock Lords, Macross, KO and 3P. Though again it might just make the releant threads harder to find.*
*I tended to find the old AA subforum meant I sometimes lost track of threads as the sub forum didnt always catch my attention.
