It's not an objective fact that Fort Max is huge whereas Scorponok is not! It totally depends on whether you're going by toy or fiction and for that matter which fiction - there's more than one where the characters are similarly sized, so I see nothing which precludes Scorponok from being huge if that's what people want. Clearly they don't as this was a fan vote, but slavish G1 toy scale devotion is A Thing. I remember all the hating on Universe Powerglide, a really fun toy!

No no no no. If you're so big that you can actually step on your own troops without realising it, something is wrong.

Which is equally true of Fort Max?

That would make a hell of a comic, fort max trying to cope after accidendentally squashing half his forces.

Couldn't remember if we had a separate thread for this.. Trypticon won the vote. Disappointed. SHIT THE BED!!!! But I just did an epic shit on the train. I think I'm all out. ... Oh. Right. Anyhoo, I was surprised to find myself disappointed that Scorponok didn't win. More so when I remembered that I voted for Trypticon. But CJ's made a number of really good points - and exactly the same points that made me vote team Robot Godzilla City in the first place. Another Scorponok's pretty much inevitable at some point, and this was indeed our only decent shot at a Trypticon. So let's hope they do him good. If Sky Lynx is anything to go by, they've got some mad, skilled beast-former-heads on the design team at the moment, so hopes are high... And if anyone's disappointed in a lack of Scorponok... don't forget Pandinus. That's all I'm saying.

My issue with Trypticon is that it only really has 2 modes, dino and base. Im sure theres a third mode but if there is, like Maxs alt modes both come across as rejumbled robot lying down. Metroplex and Scorponok managed to have 3 distinct modes, at least in my mind. Omega at least gives you a rocket and train set, so sort of 3 modes. But I dont think rocket and train would have sold as well as giant dinosaur. New Third mode is a starship. There ya go.

Also: A leader class Scorponok will be roughly in scale with TR PM Optimus, MP Grimlock or FoC Grimlock (whichever size you feel suits grim best) and MP Shockwave.

Aye - I think I'd also prefer a Leader Class Scorponok to a Titan. Just so I can have TR Leader Optimus surrender to him appropriately.

Oh that's right. Gosh, he's gonna be vast if he's anything like Fort Max. When's he due? Any word yet?

Id guess next year now that they seem to be getting a Titan Class toy out each year. As part of whatever the next line will be.

Next summer I'd think. I think there was design art shown in the Hasbro presentation yesterday (the bit only attendees can see) and the word was that the robot mode is almost as tall as Metroplex, but looks shorter because being a dino he's stooped over a bit.

I was assuming there that "robot mode" meant non-city/vehicle mode. Which, for Trypticon, is a dinosaur.

Yes, sorry, for robot read dinosaur. I think the point they were making was that he is as massive as Metroplex, but won't be as tall because being a dino he leans forward.

I don't think we'll get the toy released in the UK - we should with Fortmax (if he comes like Metroplex with one of his arms off)

That's very G1-looking. But maybe that's the point. And maybe it's just there to remind us of that poll thing. Can't be unrelated, though. Surely..?

Hasbro hasn't had their TF panel yet, though. And there's also NYCC which has started to become an actual thing.

They did their marvel legends panel yesterday. IDW did their panel yesterday or friday. Machima did, also. I don't know if Hasbro did their star wars panel, yet, but I know they haven't done their TF panel.

There isn't one this year.
Apparently there's a big con in China at the end of this week we might see some new stuff at.
