No no no, you're thinking of Moonbase 3. Star Cops is simply the finest hard SF series the BBC have ever made.
Not that it has an awful lot of competition to be fair.

Whaaat? really? I must dig out my Moonbase 3 VHS tapes and have another look. That's a series I've never managed to get through a whole episode of, even if it was penned by the mighty Dicks.
I can't believe the lack of love for Star Cops. I am deeply saddened. It's great!

Moonbase 3 is no lost classic and the direction is sub-par but it has a certain charm. DVD is out of print but it lurks on youtube.

Somewhere on this forum is the end of the tale of me and Moonbase 3. I never did find the tapes, I think they're in the lofft somewhere but I can't find them, but the DVD dropped below twenty quid on Amazon sometime last year and I bought that. I really liked it. As an adult. Too slow watching it as a teenager, but now, Moonbase 3 is okay by me.
