Eep. I've done Magus upgrades before. That didn't end prettily.

I don't think UM needs any upgrading.

Shouldn't this be in the 3P thread?
The proper gun is nice, and I could *really* go for a set of hands that actually can hold his bloody weapons. Everything else seems superfluous.

Yeah. I mean, that's nice and everything, and I like the idea of the battle-masked face, but... Why? More importantly, why does he have RiD/CR-styled legs..?

While I'll agree that the Magnus hands aren't the best, and think they should have been 5mm peg holes like every other Generations Leader, they will hold the weapons just fine & securely if you find the sweet spot described upthread.

Phil, this should be in the 3rd party thread!

You'd think that but there is considerable precedent especially in the Generations Metroplex thread.
But kind GodMod that I am I've started a new 3P Weapons, Accesories and Add Ons thread

Well done that man! Good idea. Addons for official figures is a different kettle of fish to your full-on Third Party figures.

Pretty comprehensive looking set, but I'm not sure about the head. Still, given the PE sets combined are £50 it might be cheaper.

While I'll agree that the Magnus hands aren't the best, and think they should have been 5mm peg holes like every other Generations Leader, they will hold the weapons just fine & securely if you find the sweet spot described upthread. I've not got a problem with my Magnus holding one of the weapons, but the other one doesn't seem to want to stay in his off-hand. It isn't particularly good aesthetically anyway compared to the afore-first-mentioned gun though, so I actually keep it clamped to his leg as a "back-up" piece. I'm not really sure I'd call the Magnus kit above an "upgrade", more of a "side-grade" - it doesn't feel like it adds much that he is lacking, just changes the appearance slightly. It is fine for what it is, but I can't see any need for it myself. Btw - anyone ever used any Shapeways sellers for weapons? I'm currently looking for suitable weapons for the repaint of one of my Generations Jetfire's, and I am trying to decide whether to do with paired identical gunpods, or a single "long gun", but most of what I've seen out there seems to be sized for deluxes so it isn't going to look quite right because of the scale difference. There are a few options on Shapeways which look like they might be to a more suitable scale (What will become Flame-out is pretty much disarmed as it has already donated the arm "hold-outs" and the gunpod to my other Jetfire - who looks a bit better with the paired gunpods on the forearm mounts. Need to decide whether I am keeping the conformal pieces for the legs and cutting the gun-barrels off or if I am just going to ditch those entirely) Karl

I *really* don't understand this obcession people have with diecast.

It just feels like a nicer, premium finish. Bit of weight. Toys with diecast feel like serious toys. When used to compliment the plastic anyway, ie anything by Fans Toys.
Why is this Perfect Combiner 13? Shouldn't it be Perfect Returner 1?

Hi guys, I recently invested in Combiner Wars Combaticons after buying a few for my son. Primarily I wanted Bruticus and I have Shockwave on the way. As a kid I had g1 Onslaught and Swindle but never the others so kind of wish fulfilment kind of thing. I was going to get the two Perfect Effect upgrades (pc-09 and pc-10) but then I saw the Dream Wave Transform upgrade and oh my! Anyone know if a UK retailer will stock it and when it may be available? Categoric no from Kapow unfortunately.
