I think we saw this coming.... I am ashamed to admit I am getting very excited for these, and my TR Magnus Prime. I'm gonna put the PC-15 and 16 sets on the Magnus Prime body to make the perfect Powermaster Prime update. And will probably put the Magnus Prime cab on TR PMOP trailer to make the best possible Marvel Comics Powermaster Prime. |

So I got mine today, and it is so much better than legends ginrai. Selling it seperate from the head and the powermaster though is really stupid, IMO, and just a money grab. But yeah. I'm pleasantly surprised as I've never had anything but terrible experiences with Perfect Effect products. He's well designed, well engineered, great sculpting. He's not perfect, nor do I feel he's a particularly strong stand alone toy. But the quality is actually good, and far superior to the the takara toy he's supposed to complement. |

I'm generally not one for wanting repaints or retools of 3P products, but the more I tinker with this guy, I realize something. He *needs* a retool into Thunderclash! Given the way he transforms, he would make a damn near perfect Thunderclash! And all he needs to make this conversion is a new robot chest and head. They could do more extensive work to the cab if they wanted, and the way that's designed it would also be only superficial work. They could create a trailer base that becomes battle armor to complete it and make it more enticing to collectors who may be on the fence after Optimus and Magnus. Then they've also got Machine Wars Optimus to help recomp the costs. |

I might be interested in a similar product that gave me painted faces for the Prime Masters. There's plenty of faces on Shapeways I could use by my painting skills wang chung.

I bought just one of these to make sure it worked properly, and am very happy with it so will order another for the other arm ASAP. Will need to look at how to make the grip tighter. Having a few more of these!   Attaches fine to other TR ramps but the clutch between it and the other shapeways ramp, which also attaches fine to TR ramps, isn't great. Looks fine, but once again no grip between the peg and the hand. This is an easier job to fix than the Max adaptor as there's a peg here I (or Nick) can build up by wrapping taped round or similar. Job done, Nightbeat has a body, and the Legends version is a perfect match colourwise. TR isn't so close but still passable   (TR on left, Legends on right) Overall very pleased with that lot. The Max hand/5mm adaptor and gun handles need some work but everything else does the job it's meant to. |

Max arm ramps set 2 are here.
Functionally I knew they were great and I knew it looked ok, but both sets of ramps together completely redeems the front of Max's base mode. Looks AMAZING. Pictures tomorrow when the light is better.
