I picked up the X2 upgrade set for my Masterpiece Magnus as I liked the look of the gun extensions and the new shoulder pieces seemed like a nice bonus. That said so far it’s not going great. I’ve abandoned the shoulder installation as I need to find a thinner screwdriver to get at the last screw, but more disappointingly the new gun piece is way too loose and just falls straight off.
I figure I’ll see if I can layer the inside with floor polish or something to try and tighten it. I hadn’t seen any talk of this happening before so I’m wondering if it’s a slight millimetre difference in the Magnus reissue or something.

Looks fab, and to me an essential upgrade. And yet, according to the note on my Kapow invoice, I was the only one to order one!

Really? That's a surprise. Having picked up one for my Legends Fort Max, I do think if I was in a place to order Grand Max, I'd have gotten it. Its a cracking looking gun, and it definitely adds to the figure.

I've used the blue version with my Brave Max, but that red Grand Max version goes really well with him.
Out of interest is that the reprolabel set on Fort Max's sword?

So we lucky sod who managed to pick up the SDCC Fort Max from A1toys for £40 at Christmas time more or less paid for the sword, and got the Fort max for free when compared to Kapow's price for just the sword.

I was not aware there was a difference. The Kapow description doesn't mention anything about it being clear, and I can't tell from the picture either.

I just got through a set of the KO Perfect Effect Combiner hands and feet after a random eBay purchase. I’ve never been keen on the Combiner Wars versions (the PotP versions work a lot better I think) but these are a much better replacement. The blaster modes for when you’ve got everyone separated are a really nice idea to beef up their weaponry.

Well, you called it. There is the AH-1 Cobra-style gun that we talked about a while back. Assuming it is roughly in scale with Battleslash's vehicle mode that is one terrifyingly large calibre gun as well. I rather like the idea of him lofting a gun on a par with that of an A-10. That is a gloriously mad level of overkill.

This set arrived today. Does anyone have any idea what they are originally from, as they are lots of black pieces, but I have no idea how they are supposed to form something. Thanks to some help on twitter, it does seem to be a KO of a Junkion Blacksmith Studios upgrade set for G1 Predaking. |

That's interesting. How well does it work with Volcanicus, given it was intended for Predaking? Although I find it hard to think you're going to go wrong with the swords at least. They look nice.
After some minor ebay/delivery drama, finally got through the last of the upgrade kits of MP Ultra Magnus. So he's now all kitted up with the modified shoulder housings, gun extensions and posable hands. Really nice finishing touches to a cracking figure. The new hands are really nice, although I'm tempted to try and paint the screws in his palms as they're a little obvious.

I didn't know they could combine until I found out what set they were from and found pictures online. I shall never be forming Volcanicus again, so I have no idea what they look like with him, but I did try the sword and hammer modes, that I had Skyshadow and Grimlock hold. The plan was to give the swords to the Dino's who didn't have any, and I am left with lots of left over parts. |

Disappointment tonight. I'd ordered the modfans MP36 upgrade kit to get the Frank Welker clips and purple LED cannon for my IT-01 Megs.
Annoyingly the version I've been sent seems to be the one with Chinese Galvatron, rather than the voice clips from the movie, and the sound quality on the first set of clips (which are Frank Welker) is so poor you can barely tell what's being said. Couple that with the fact the light is a weird washed out red with purple outer tinge, its made for a pretty disappointing product.
I've been back in touch with the seller to see if they'll replace it (they should since they advertised the English version), but if I'd known there was a chance of getting something this poor, I'd have not bothered at all. The proper cannon that came with IT-01 is far better in audio and light quality, even if I have no clue what he's saying.

So, I heard back from the seller, and they basically washed their hands of the mistake, updating the listing description on the sly (of course, ebay lets you pull up the original one anyway). I messaged them back, but haven't heard anything more.
At this point, I left negative feedback and kicked off a returns process, but I wondered what other people's experiences were in this situation? Am I better writing the whole thing off, or is it worth kicking off a Paypal claim if they don't accept the return?
