Should anyone who hasn't read it want to.
I'm sure I read someone had read this story before on The Hub, but can't remember who. I don't think they gave it a glowing report though!
Being BeastWars Fevered up as I am, I got the TPB super cheap off Amazon. I'll start off by getting something off my chest first...

Phew, that's better (I'm telling myself they'll rebuild him as the black owl Prowl in the third story- if they do a third).
Generally I thought it was a fairly good romp, especially as I don't know much 'bout Beast Wars and I'm enjoying anything to do with them. I'm not sure what a BW expert would make of the story.
The story didn't have the epic feel I was hoping for, or that I pretty much got from The Gathering. It read like one big battle- seemed to be over awefully quick. As nice as it was to see prob every BW character ever in there, it felt very clutered. No explanation was made to, for example, Apache and B'Boom being identical (although there was a mention to Injector being in a similar possition). And certainly no explanation to there being a Lion Prowl and an Owl Prowl (as nice as it was to see both). The fact that alot of the action took place on Cybertron meant that we didn't see alot of the characters as beasts, Big Convoy as one example, which made the story seem less 'Beast Wars' to me, although I appreciate that action on Cybertron was fairly integral to this story.
Thought Lio Convoy and Big Convoy were pretty cool. We didn't see Magnaboss or Tripredacus, which was disapointing. And I'm sorry guys, I'm still not convinced 'bout the penguin or the rabbit, as funny as Stampy was!
Now, I get the feeling that alot of TF fans out there don't want to see Unicron much anymore. No one wants him to appear in the IDW stories, or in the Movies. Personally I love Unicron, and think he's an integral part of the Transformerverse. I thought it was good to see him in The Ascending, and it made me want to see more of the G1ick Unicron we enjoyed in our childhoods.
Coupla questions:
Angolmois. Has this substance featured prior to The Ascending in anything? Never heard of it myself.
Lion Prowl, Ironhide and Silverbolt form Magnaboss- they are 'The Imperium' and they're incharge of the Maximals, right?
Any word on a third part in the IDW Beast Wars series?
