I've got a pile of these at home. I'm sure they did a couple of runs of them, the original ones were better. The quarter pounder one was my favourite figure.

I found mine. These are from the second run in about 1990, they transform into dinosaurs. The first lot were better, they opened up and had robotic faces and arms that popped out. I'm sure someone posted the advert that McDonald's ran for the first lot.

Blueshift, the burger ones are sort of Rock shaped.

Oooooooooh were some US exclusives?? From what I remember, we only got 4 of the robot ones and 4 of the dino ones. Looking at wiki, the robot ones I remember are from series 2, so maybe the UK got series one, but it was before my time. There were 6 in series 1: Series 2 had 2 recolours (Big Mac and large Fries) from the first series and 6 new figures: I remember the Big Mac, Fries, Quarter Pounder box and Milkshake cup being released in the UK. Series 3 were the dinosaurs: I remember the fries, milkshake cup, Happy Meal box and Chicken McNuggets box [but with the McDs logo instead of Nuggets on the box] being released in the UK.

That is a very good question.
Fries looks like he's permanently in a bad mood. I feel sorry for him. He's the one that needs the hug.

I'd never noticed that before, I'll take a closer look and see if I can work out if they're his eyes like I'd always assumed. And I'm not grumpy! And neither am I. (Oh yeah, colour variant!)

The fists do look as though they've seen plenty of action.

Fries is clearly a bare knuckle fighter. His tech spec motto is "I coulda been a contender"

Fries reminds me a deadly version of The War Machines from the Doctor Who story of the same name.

Sadly, they will never come again as McDonalds are phasing out plastic Happy Meal items next year. While retaining plastic cup lids.

As long as creme egg mcflurries keep coming back every year all will be well.

They will. With the unnessary plastic lids that get in the way of the spoon.

You do know you take the lid off to eat them, right?

Yup. Which is why the lid is pointless and a proper waste of plastic.

I had one possibly from Australia as I lived there for a while as a kid which was a Hot Cakes box which transformed into a pterodactyl type thing. It was almost certainly part of this series as I had the burger and fries too
