If you're into 40k and want a series of novels based on that, then it would look good on a shelf. The books are pleasingly square edged and chunky with colour pages in the middle. My Warhammering has always been of the fantasy battle variety, so it's not something I'd go for.

Anyone notice that the spine for v6 just happens to be v2 on the picture of all the volumes together?

Why does v6 have Stormbringer cover art inside the cover page? unless it is in all of them

Test run. As with the spine it'll presumably change if it goes nationwide. It seems how they're saving money on the test is with original art and proofreading.
The Who one uses the same headshots of all the Doctors on each book's end pieces. The TF one will presumably need a good but all G1 purpose illustration. Which Stormbringer cover art probably isn't (due to the Cybertronian modes).
If they settle on a stock IDW image rather than original art I'd guess the Cons/Autobots facing off against each other Tions era cover art would win.

So, if I subscribe (in the test area) will they actually send me anything or should I just keep looking in local shops? There was a subscription leaflet with #1 with mail, phone or online options for #2 onwards.

Not sure.
I subscribed to the how to draw during the test phase. Got nothing during the four week test. Got a bundle of the stuff for free with a letter explaining the test had ended. Then a few months later when it started properly they started me with issue 1.
But I was not in the test area.

Indeed. Though I have subbed, due to how borked their system is I don't expect to receive anything. I haven't been charged thus far. I do wish their site was clearer on that as folk in test areas might try to subscribe too! It's not like copies on sale have YOU ARE IN A TEST AREA written on them!

I have found one panel recoloured Soundwave in US issue. Also Ultra Magnus in last parts of Target 2006 looks more blue, but that coudl be printing.

It's all quite confusing really. If I subscribe and they send nothing I risk missing out... but they have also provided no info on when the next issue will be out...

#2 should be out this weekend. But from the text for it
Discover the key Spotlight issues, including the classic Spotlight: Shockwave (featuring the Dinobots), and the pulse-pounding Stormbringer mini-series.
Each issue has 9 US comics so thats 4 issue Stormbringer, Shockwave & then says Spotlight issues - so that leaves room for 4 issues.

For those that have seen it, does the first US issue in #1 use the UK version of Ratchet fixing Prime's injury with the "SEE ISSUE 100 STUFF" or does it still claim it was down to rescuing Skids?

I was only checking the colouring not checking the text boxes. But the cover gallery is only for Target 2006 then the US issues not the UK only US covers.

A cost cutting measure for the test? Not considered important enough? Or simply one they're unaware of?
I've got a pretty solid list of the important alterations to the UK comic I'd be happy to share with them (along with scans if that helps as well) if they'd be interested, but I'm not sure who to send it too after the email mess.
Oh, and does the cover gallery include the UK fronts to the US reprints?

Once I see a copy it will be easier to see if they're using IDW's scans. Target:2006 appears to be the version IDW used for their single issues (courtesy of pictures from Merrifield of this parish) and trade of it rather than the more faded UK Classics version. The clue is seeing the Transformers masthead at the top of the last page of the Magnus V Galvatron fight issue. That was there in the single issue IDW series as that part was split over 2 issues so the tanker explosion became a new cliffhanger to #4.

The UK covers for #89-92,94,95 are not included. But it does hint what is in the other volumes.
v3 - #42-44 error saying Geoff Senior does art for #42-44 v5 - us#17-18
