Oh wow that makes me so happy. But ouch that price!! Oddly enough I just sold my sister's SNES on ebay. Sadly the guy looks to be a non-payer after a week. Won't even reply to messages!

Nintendo claim to be making more than they did of the nes so theres better chance of being able to get hold of one later, but they've also said the production run will be limited. I didn't want to chance it so got myself one of the £80 preorders. If I can find one cheaper I'll cancel the £80 one.

I want the SNES classic badly. A lot of fantastic games on it. The NES Classic came and went without me ever spotting one for sale in the wild or online. Until this moment I'd thought it was cancelled.

Until this moment I'd thought it was cancelled. The NES classic was infuriating. Nintendo saw it was mega popular and they couldn't keep it on shelves, so they stopped making it.

I'd preorder a snes mini if I knew where. I didn't realise the preorders were up.

I don't even know who's selling it here. I guess I could go to gamestop and see if they're taking preorders. Amazon has it listed but so far only "email me when available"
As for nes classic, those second hand prices are insane. You can get an actual working nes for way less.

I don't believe American pre-orders have gone up anywhere yet. Over here they just pop up at random times from different retailers and then sell out in about 20 minutes.

The amazon listing didn't exist at all like... two days ago.

I picked up the Wonder Boy remake. OH MY GOD it looks absolutely beautiful. And you can instantly switch back to the original 80's pixel version while playing. It's amazing. Wow.

Got my SNES Classic. Its a thing of tiny beauty.
Only had a very quick go, but its absolutely perfect. Controller feels exactly right and the games just as they have always been.

What games have you been playing? It has Final Fantasy 6, right? (Or 3, which is what the American release of 6 was called, though the next US release was 7...)

Ive become addicted to donkey Kong country, its replaced my cookie clicker addiction.
The kirby games are pretty disturbing. Street fighter 2 doesnt hold up. The mario games are great as always.
Waiting for a bit more free time before delving in to the more involved games.

Mario Odyssey has arrived, if reviews are to be believed then this game is going to be another triumph for Nintendo.

Urge for Switch intensifying. It's good and I do love mine, but VERY expensive for what it is. Should be at least £50 lower.

Finished Mario, but the story mode is only like, 1/4 of the game!
Sounded like someone was nicking a bit of Murray Gold music in one of the boss fights!
(at about 10 secs in, that recurring theme is totally the 12th Doctor's theme!

I've never played a Mario game, but the positivity around Odyssey is making me seriously consider saving for a Switch. That and Breath of the Wild are super tempting.

The Switch IS very expensive for what it is (issues with build quality too, I'd expect better for the price!), but either Mario or BOTW alone make it worthwhile. It's really fantastic and I've sunk a ridicious amount of time into it (and I've not really done much with consoles.... ever)

The background string refrain is indeed similar to the 12th Doctor's theme.

I'm probably gonna have to get one. I'm told that Pokemon is gonna become a console hame after Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Hopefully by then it'll be better quality, and cheaper.

I'm probably gonna have to get one. I'm told that Pokemon is gonna become a console hame after Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Hopefully by then it'll be better quality, and cheaper. None of it is a dealbreaker (I was on the edge when I got one but ended up loving it regardless) but for the price you pay you'd expect the build quality to be better. Issues are: - Lefthand joycon not working properly (all ones shipping should be fixed now)
- Case separating/cracking at the top (not QUITE flush, not enough locking tabs or some screws are too tight making it buckle a bit. Mine's ok just a tiny bit separated near the power button, but I've seen other peoples who have outright cracked)
- Plastic screen - not glass. I mean I guess for safety but ugh for a £300 machine come on
- Dock scratches screen - There's no padding at all in the dock, it's just hard plastic. Even a bit of rubber or felt would have solved it. Just get a screen protector when you buy your Switch and it's no biggie. Just... shouldn't be.
- Righthand side of screen lifts up - the digitiser cable runs down the right side so there's less adhesive, and when the switch heats up in handheld mode, the adhesive expands and it lifts by about a mm. It goes down when it cools but it's a bit scary and again, shouldn't be a thing that happens! Different peoples seem to be affected differently
Mine's got a few of the above issues as it was quite an early model, but eh, it's not really that bad. Just for the price I'd expect it to be perfect. Battery is fine, despite all that pre-release worry people had. All of the above should be fixed in running changes

Oh yes, here's a fantastic moment from the midpoint of the game (spoilered insofar as you can spoiler a Mario game You get the song whilst you go and do some 2D action and get to replay Donkey Kong!!!

Got my Switch on launch day and I’ve not had any problems with the build quality (other than getting wrong cover on the wrong joycon, which was easily fixed and my own fault, really). I’ve heard people identify the issues, and I’m not saying they aren’t real, but of the handful of people I know with a Switch, none of them have mentioned any problems; I certainly wouldn’t let it put anybody off getting one.
