3rd Doctor seems... different... more thoughtful... tired? Good observation that. The Green Death is the last story of Pertwee's fourth season. He did five overall, but the fifth is something of an encore and it's noticeable around the point of The Green Death that he's getting a bit tired in the part. He had very bad back pains that were stopping him from being the dynamic Doctor he started out as. However this story has other reasons why the Doctor seems strained, which get revealed at the end.

I see what you guys mean now... The Doctor at the end there... reak sadness. Sorry Blue'. They, and by 'they' I mean the characters, obviousy weren't physical, but their was 'something' there. Just look at the Doctor at the end! Quite heart tugging.
(I think Yates liked Jo too... Yates is pretty cool actually!)
Anywho, The Green Death is top notch 'n'no mistake.
